I have a decent swing and can make my way around the course just fine. Scratch player on most days. I want to increase my flexibily though. I was told recently that I bend my left arm a bit on the back swing. I'm fine with how I play but I want to have a good swing also. I dont think I need to change my swing. Just increase my ability to turn. Any exercises anyone can recommend?

I want this something like this.

Skip to about 0:25. I'm ok with the rest of my swing.

'09 Nike Dymo 3-Wood
Tommy Armour 855s 2-Iron (from an old set. i can hit it 260-270 and it's accurate so I kept it)
Mizzuno MP-33 irons(absolutely love these and they look great)
Cleveland Wedges obviously
Odessey putter(need a new one very soon)No driver. Dont need one.

Note, only about 5% of pro golfers have a perfectly staight left arm in there swing. The key is, when your shoulders stop turning thats when the backswing ends, do not continue to extend more, like john daly does ;b

But, to gain flexibilty, there is no one muscle ground that you can stretch that will give you his flexibility. But i can say that an issue might be you not turning your right hip enough, go find a few articles on right leg straightening in the backswing. If you can post a video it can show more if your shoulder turn is good.

If you have to stretch more, work from toe to head. Calves, hamstrings, hips, gluts, abs, lower back, Lats, Upper back, shoulders, chest, biceps, triceps.

It can take about 30 minutes to do a full body stretch routine, but it helps alot. Go online and google, Golf Stretching, or just stretching. You can find some good basic ones to do that will help out.

Over time, yoga helps alot. But be aware increasing your range of motion also changes your swing in ways you cant really feel. You could easily end up over swinging. My left arm isnt perfectly strait either. I cant see your video, but i don't think a strait lead arm is that big of a deal. You can play perfectly fine with a little bend.

The video is Tiger. His lead arm is very straight until well after contact with the ball. I want that. I just need to work on using my body more to maek the swing and not my arms as much. I've been doing lots of core exercises lately and my game has straighted out. Now I feel like I just need to fine tune it and I'll be able to drop below par fairly often. Tiger's swing is so amazing. Just perfect.

I will start with more stretching at home and before practicing/playing.

Tiger is an top athlete that probably could have excelled at several different sports, so i don't think too many people should be basing their swing off what he does. Its akin to trying to copy Ray Allen's quick release. Im not discounting the strength and flexibility training, but i would use it more to find your own swing.

Just do standard stretches everyday, and then again if your going to play. I would look at say, 2 or 3 professionals swings and a couple good guys that you know and just play around a bit. Yeah, tigers a beast but that doesn't mean his style will work the same for you, with different sizes and postures.
