The furthest I've ever hit a ball is 335 and I have tremendous testicles for a man my age.

Hey where do you play near Cleveland?

Are you interested in playing golf with him or seeing his tremendous testicles?

Just trying to clarify....

Impressively quick answer! 3 minutes between our posts! I don't think you thought it was as funny as I did though.

Monday I played I round of golf with some newbies, allways like to do so, hole 5 is a 400 yds par 4 and I just missed a brirdie, they were impressed .... next hole is a 550 yds par 5 with the widest faiway you can imagine, I took out my fun 6 degr. driver with 48" shaft and hit it almost pure, it went, went, went .... I picked up the tee and asked if it had landed..... don't know what happened, but it landed way over 450 yds out ......

You seem to be serious. You also seem to be very keen on impressing other people. Problem is, when you post this sort of nonsense, noone will ever treat anything you say seriously. You did not fly the ball 450 yards. What makes it obvious that you're kidding yourself is the attitude......You drive, casually pick up your tee and ask your playing partners if the ball has landed yet. Yeah, right. And I've never seen the entire membership of a golf club hanging around there at the same time. 800?? You're full of it.

In the race of life, always back self-interest. At least you know it's trying.

Shanks, what kind of SS would Gerald have had to hit this explosion of a drive? 160 mph?

179 with a 0.7 degree driver in theory, but more practically 174 with a 2.6 degree driver. 176 is the world record if I recall correctly.

Piece of cake!especially when you're over 50.The joints really loosen up after a certain age.

A great shot is when you go for it and pull it off. A smart shot is when you don't have the guts to try it. ~ Phil Mickelson.

Nope. It collided with Mark McGwire's 62nd home run from 1998 (which still hasn't landed), launching it over to Mt. Everest where Jack Hamm was attempting to hit a ball over the world biggest mountain. Those two golf balls smashed into eachother and were obliterated upon travelling through the Earth's atmosphere on their return from space.

C'mon. You didn't hit the ball 450 yards. A 48 inch shaft and 6* of loft doesn't give you a hundred extra yards, or whatever you claimed.

I played #11 at The Nursery yesterday from the "Par 6" tee. Listed at 782 yards.

Driver, Fybrid, Wedge (from 122) to pin high. Knowing the approach yardage, and that a full purely struck Fybrid goes 260 (tested it 2 weeks ago - 260 max), it looks like I drove that ball an even 400 yards. What? Look at the hole layout. I cut off almost 100 yards by starting the ball over the trees on the right side and just flying the zig zag fairway. When anyone asks what my longest drives was this year, I'll say 400 though, just to be safe.

OMG, so it did finally land!!? After I read your first post I immediately went out and bought a 3 degree driver with a 60" shaft. I didn't pull it out on the front nine, I mainly used my 9 and 9.5 degree, used my 10 degree on one hole I think, but anyway, I was saving it for the right time. I get up to number 10 and there are about 600 people standing around the tee box. I knew it was time. I pull it out of the bag. One of the guys I was playing with said, "OMFG you have to be pro to hit that". I said shut up b!tch and enjoy the ride. I hit it almost pure and it went and went. I picked up my tee and then said, "if I hit a satellite I hope I get a good kick" and then flipped my broken tee in some guys face. Another guy I was playing with said something about how I must be the longest hitter on earth. I took a big drink of beer and spit it in his face. Everyone picked me up and passed me around on their shoulders. It landed about 600 yards. It was a 185 yard par 3 but no one cared.

We'll just let Feherty handle this one.. just substitute 300 for 450 in this case.

    • Day 34 (14 Dec 25) - Got outside for a few moments to work on bump and runs with the 4h (again using the exaggerated weight shift reminder of the left (lead) heel). Finding that it helps keep the downswing arc extended.

    • I am currently playing a Cobra Ltdx LS 9 degree driver and Cobra Ltdx LS FW3. Both with Tensei White stock stiff shafts and original weights of 12g (heel) and 3g (toe). My miss is usually a pull fade or sometimes a slice, swing is out to in. Driver swing speed about 112 mph. Grips are stock regular. Intended change: Driver: Switching to Tensei White x-flex one inch shorter which I suppose would be 44,5? Changing heel weight to 18g. Changing grip to Golf Pride Z-grip cord midsize. Change hosel setting to standard draw. FW3: Changing heel weight to 16g (apparently not available in FW weights, but supposed to be something called "internal weight" a club builder can add which fits between the weight and the screw?). Change grip to Golf Pride Z-grip cord midsize. Changing hosel setting to standard +1. The goal is to 1) get better grip since I tend so lose grip in warm and moist conditions with the current grips and 2) mitigate the misses to start more straight with less side spin. Also considering adding the Cobra Ltdx LS FW5 instead of my old Taylormade R9 and getting 14g heel and 6g toe weights with the same grip as the others and hosel setting standard +1.   All of the above is based on conversations with ChatGPT and, as everyone knows, it can come up with pretty much whatever but I spent a few hours asking about different perspectives etc and this was the recommendation. So, my question is basically, does it make any sense?   Thanks.
