I currently have a pair of 3H and 4H Cleveland DST Hybrids. I cant hit them for nothing! 3-10 hits actually go where i want them. I have spent ALOT of time on them and it cant figure them out. Are there any other hybrids that seem to hit easier? Any info on this would help greatly. Thanks for your time.

I'm in the market for an easy to hit hybrid as well. I really don't want to shell out $150-200 on one though. I've read that the Nickent hybrids are great clubs while being very affordable.

I have a Nike Sumo that I bought for short money, it hits easily and consistently, ballflight is a little high though.

Wouldn't you like a ballflight that is high? They are for the most part replacing irons/woods for those people that have trouble getting them up in the air more consistently. The high ballflight allows for the ball to land softly on the greens. As long as the ball isn't ballooning I think the high ball flight is helping you.

One of the UK golf magazines rated the Taylor Made Rescue, and Taylor Made Burner SuperFast Rescue as most forgiving.

Not everyone wants / needs to flight the ball high. My FT hybrid flys extremely high, which is useful when it's not blowing out. When the wind is blowing it's an extremely tough club to control the ball flight, however with my 4 iron I can control the ball flight better. So I think it really depends on the level of the golfer, and what exactly they are looking for out of their hybrids. But that's just IMO.

Go hit every hybrid that you can and decide for yourself. As you can see we all use different clubs. I prefer my Wilson Staff Fybrids.

I have an FT 3H and it is easy to hit. By definition though all hybrids are going to be easy to hit when compared with long irons. It's what they are made for. The best thing you can do is hit as many different ones as possible and narrow down your search to several that you like and then go get fit for one. If you dont have a place that will fit you (and Im not talking about Golfsmith or GG) then your best bet is to find a range or course with demo clubs and hit some of those on the range. Hybrid tech hasnt changed in the past few years so you could get a club used that's a year or two old fairly reasonably priced.

What do you like about them? I have an old Wilson 5 wood and love it.

    • It may not have been block practice, though, is one of the main points here. You may have been serving and from the same place, but you were likely trying to do slightly different things. It seems that would only be blocked practice if you were trying to hit the same exact ball hit to you to the same exact place in the far court. I'm not sure that's as random as if the ball that you're given to hit is at different places, too, but again…
    • I played tennis in college. I thought block practice was great for serves because you were starting the point and  you could easily adjust where you wanted to place the ball based off the same motion. I equate those to tee balls. I despised block practice for groundstrokes once you reached a certain level and your fundamentals were good. To me, hitting a 100 crosscourt backhands in a row was silly because I would never do that in a match. I needed to randomize it by hitting some deep, some angled, all with different speeds and spins. I share that same thought about iron play. Because we seldom hit the same approach shots hole after hole, I prefer to practice irons randomly.
