I am having an issue with my driver. Not an issue with hitting it, the last 3-4 times on the course i have been swinging my driver excellent and confidently. The issue is that i make great contact, sounds great, yet only will go 210-230ish unless i really get a hole of it. The ball goes wayyy to high up and i feel like im losing distance. any suggestions?

This first time i swung a golf club was on 5/8/10....

Are you leaning way back on the swing?

Can you get a video for us to look at?

You could have a lot of backspin ion the ball, so even though you hit it dead centre and it sounds great, it launches because of the backspin

Different shaft needed? usually shaft stiffness / type is the biggest reason for ballooning ball flight. Along with a possible swing flaw, but without video as Keiran suggested we wouldn't be able to say which.

I don't think that is it. I already tee it fairly low. I usually tee it up so that the top of the ball is barely over the head of the driver

I will take a vid when i play this weekend and post it.

I just switched drivers from a reg flex 10.5 to a stiff flex 9.5 so i thought that would help me out. I will def post a video

I would go ahead and make a guess that your weight is too far back and that you are flipping. A video would certainly help.

My guess is that your weight is to far back and you "scooping" the ball to much making it go high and short, this works great for wedges though!
