Well, I watch the pros a little, but in basketball, it all comes down to college for me. College Basketball may be my favorite sport in life to watch, and during this time of year, it is great!

It is even better when my Oklahoma State Cowboys are having a great year, and this year is no exception. I look for them to return to the Final Four again this year, although it won't be as easy this time around.

I was wondering how many other people here get into March Madness like I do. I get into all the office pools and stuff, as I love picking the games and stuff.

I will be sticking with Oklahoma State for the most part, and I also think North Carolina has as good a chance as any to cut down the nets in early April.

What does everyone else think?

Count me among the few who really don't like basketball. I'll play it - it's athletic - but watching it, ugh. I dread March for two reasons: the snow is still here but it's warming up, and basketball.

I am by no means a college basketball fan, but, going to espn.com today to check my lineup for golf I noticed they had a free bracket thingy, so I filled it out. Anyone else from our fantasy league do one?

Yeah, my bracket is all screwed up after tonight's games. But I think it is the same for everyone out there. There have been 2 huge upsets tonight so far, which is just what March Madness is all about!

I am definitely enjoying it, and I'm just glad Oklahoma State escaped a close one today.

yea, golf is my favorite sport...but March Madness is amazing. The first day of the first round i was doing really well in the brackets, but the second day just screwed me so bad. Bucknell winning messed me up bad, then I had ODU upsetting Michigan St., they came close but fell out in the end, Syracuse really screwed me bad, argh, at least my Elite 8 and Final Four are still in it. Final four......UNC at Duke, Illinois at Wake Forest, then UNC beats Illinois in the finals.

My final four are definitely different than those, but then again, I am a huge Oklahoma State fan. I have Oklahoma State, Wake Forest, UNC, and Michigan St.

I am going out on a limb with Mich. St.,and they gave me a scare for sure last night. But they have too much experience to go out early IMO. They will have a tough one against Duke in the Sweet 16 if they make it there.

And I have Oklahoma St. beating Wake and UNC beating Mich. St. Then I picked Oklahoma St. to win it all, but I don't think they can really beat UNC honestly. But I couldn't pick against OSU, I would not be able to live with myself if they did win and I didn't pick them.

I'd like to congratulate MY University of Utah Utes for making it to the sweet 16. Unfortunately we are meeting Kentucky next. Kentucky is the team we were leading by 15 in the national championship game in 1998, only to lose the game. Kentucky has knocked us out two other times since then.

I hate Kentucky. I hope my Utes can be victorious this time. Go UTES!

Well, there goes one of my picks for the Final 4. Wake Forest just got beat, but I didn't really like them anyway. I just thought they were very good.

And by the way, as much as I love Oklahoma State, I hate Oklahoma that much more. So I was very happy to see your Utes beat them today. Heh, I get to mouth to everyone I know about that one because they are all OU fans. They are arrogant fans too...

And Utah definitely has a shot to go even farther. I think they can definitely beat Kentucky. Andrew Bogut is outstanding, and he got a lot of other help today from his supporting cast. Don't go to sleep on your Utes yet..

Believe me I won't. It has been a pleasure to watch Bogut this year. Some easter teams who haven't been paying attention to us little teams in the west will be in for a big surprise.

Well, last night my Cowboys got beat by 1 with 2.8 seconds left. The entire game was close, and I couldn't have ask for anything more than that.....except a win! At least we got beat by a great shot. Now we have to wait 2 or 3 years before we will be experienced again as we have 1 freshman coming back and a lot of high school recruits.

It also looked like Utah's run ended, so I guess we can sulk together in the losses of our teams..

At least Michigan St. beat Duke, I had that in my bracket. So I gained a lot of ground on people by picking that one right.

Anyway, I look forward to watching some games this weekend and seeing who will be making the trip to the Final Four. Good stuff.

    • StuM,  I have, in the past, added a left handed club. (Ususally a 7 iron) However, I usually take a stroke penalty and move the ball to where I want it.  I play for fun and in a pinch can use theback side if my club if I don't want the penalty stroke.    RetiredOldMan,  Terry
    • So, Brendan Sorsby, Texas Tech transfer QB, was found guilty of sports betting by the NCAA. He admitted to it. He placed thousands of bets over multiple years while at Indiana and Cincinnati. This included betting on his own teams.  The NCAA rules ban athletes from betting on any sport (college or pro).  A retired visiting judge from Tarrant County, Texas has put an injunction on the NCAA ruling. He is a visiting judge because the first judge was a graduate and big fan of Texas Tech, and he recused himself. The judged ruled the following... "Under Curry's order, Sorsby is permitted to play for Texas Tech's 2026 season on the condition that he continues his treatment for a gambling and anxiety disorder and serves a two-game suspension (missing games against Abilene Christian and Oregon State)."  Don't get me wrong, I don't particularly care for the NCAA. That still doesn't mean that a college can choose when or where to say, "Yea we agree to these rules for all our sports, well except in this case." Here is a breakdown from S&W. The Hidden Weapon in Sorsby’s Injunction: How a Lubbock County Court Order Quietly Neutralized the NCAA’s Most Powerful Enforcement Tool - Law Offices of Snell & Wilmer By Ryan J. Regula On June 8, 2026, Lubbock County District Court Judge Ken Curry issued a temporary injunction in Brendan Sorsby v. National Collegiate Athletic Association, Cause No. DC-2026-CV-0791 (99th Judicial District... The main judgement made sense. Sorsby, I am going to have all this harm done to me if I don't get to play. The Judge, I agree. The penalty for gambling is too harsh, so here are all these things you must do, and I will grant this injunction against the NCAA. Basically, an analogy would be when a person goes into court for a DUI and they agree to all these other things to not end up in jail.  What sucks for the NCAA is the NCAA has appealed to Texas’ Seventh Court of Appeals, based in Amarillo. All four justices that preside over the court are graduates of Texas Tech University School of Law. It would be hilarious if all four of them had to recuse themselves 🤣. For those who like to read legal rulings...
    • The chatter in my brain is when the distance is between clubs since I am pretty weak at shortened backswings, etc. I try to simply decide if being long or short is the better outcome and choose my club based on that and simply not even try for the “real” distance.  For me a full normal swing is what I strive for.
    • I saw this comment made in a golf article... "Most golfers stand over a 4- or 5-iron still negotiating with themselves. They think about how hard to swing, whether they have the right club, if they have the aim correct and more. It’s a lot to deal with and long irons punish the “half-in” golf swing." I am not sure the "most golfers" is correct regarding the bolded part. I can understand if there is a bunker, water, and/or OB that a lot of golfers would be fixated on that. I am not sure that leads to ending up more times there. Pending your level in golf, the variance is so large in outcomes, it could be just with in the expected outcomes. I can understand if have a big lake on the right side of the hole being one of the most terrifying shots for right-handed amateur golfers.  I am not sure many golfers are standing over the ball talking to themselves, "Ok, maybe I should step back and pull the 4-iron. Am I lined up right? Oh, the wind came up, should I swing harder? What am I going to have for dinner tonight, maybe steak. (Joking, somewhat 😛)" A question is that how much chatter do you get while standing over the ball. Are you questioning the everything about your golf shot?
