I wear the FJ winter gloves and a beanie.  Those are my two biggest things I wear in the cold that I can't go without.   I love the gloves, I got a size smaller so that they would fit as tight as a golf glove.  I just played in 30 degree weather and my hands were very warm.  It helps me feel the club and get a feeling for my shots.

The UA winter pants are definitely the best looking/performing combo out there in my opinion.

They look like regular black slacks but feel and are as warm as nice winter pants. I'm gonna grab a pair next fall for sure.

Waiting out the 2 feet of snow that just dropped on the course....

The UA winter golf pants are the grey ones right? Good to hear that they work. UA is awesome for cool weather, no bulk but warm. I use the Snake eyes gloves. Decent glove but my hands to get a bit cold on the backside.

For my birthday this year I got the Foot Joy Tour Edition 3/4 sleeve pull over wind shirt.  It's water proof, wind proof, and fairly warm (it has a light liner inside).  It's made for layering and it works beautifully.  Depending on how cold it is I'll wear one or two layers under it.  The FJ winter soft gloves are also a must for cold outings.  I haven't bought any pants, I always walk, but this time of year I can see where they come in handy.  I might be picking up some with a gift certificate?

I went to Dick's this evening for the first time ever, and damn is that place huge. I was very impressed with their overall golf selection. I bought a bunch of the stuff recommended so far in the thread, so we'll see how it goes the next time it's in the low 40s and not too windy.

I went to GG today and picked up the FJ WinterSof gloves and an Adidas "thermal compession" mock. Hoping they do the trick when I get out today (hopefully) and tomorrow.

Just wondering though, I have never tried the winter type gloves (on both hands), so what are others' experiences with them? I put them on and tried gripping a club, needless to say it feels quite bulky and strange.

I tried on a few pairs before I picked one I thought felt okay. None of them felt great, but I think they'll be good enough. I also hit a few shots with a demo club on their simulator and the gloves weren't too bad. I haven't played an actual round or anything with them though yet. Darn blizzard.

I have played a few rounds with Snake Eyes brand winter gloves. The first few holes were weird but now they fit great and keep my hands warm, well mostly the backside of my hands get a bit cold after 2 plus hrs on the course and the temp has dropped. I say go for it. Winter gloves in temps under 40 are a must.

    • Day 2: August 12.  I did 25 balls of the ruler drill from LSW for putting.  24 of the 25 stayed on the ruler through 36" but some were smoother than others.  I suspect if the ruler (and goal) had been 48" far fewer would have stayed on.  I'm trying to go by sound, and not look, since when I attempt short putts, I don't want to look (although now I wonder if that's conventional wisdom that turns out to be wrong).
    • Day 17: did mirror work while watching TV. Working on wrist feels.
    • Day 315 - 2025-08-12 Got a little work in before Juniors showed up for one of their Summer Sessions.
    • I always knew it as high but never that distance was 90-95% of rating! That has always played to my advantage. I never have but I could totally vanity cap myself by playing **super** long courses that are otherwise super easy. There was one course like that in LA that I used to play that helped my cap like that. The back tees were close to 7k yards, but otherwise the course was incredibly easy. Wide open, misses almost always had a play at the green from the adjacent hole, flat greens, not challenging green complexes, etc. But it got a high rating because it was so long. So I could swing hard, spray and pray, and score well (relative to my handicap).
    • Do need a special ferrul. Thanx 😉
