Driver question

I can hit my driver 230-240 yards. Would I see a difference in distance with the new drivers?

I tried the r9 460 and the burner at golfsmith but I cannot see how the trajectory looks like and how far it goes.

If you invest your money in Custom Fitting your driver, you might get some added distance...

I think your driver is fairly relevant, although heads have gotten larger, faces thinner and shafts much better since the early 2000's when your drive was new. It's possible you may pick up 5 - 10 yards within something more modern.

A newer driver would have a lighter shaft and possibly less total weight, and might be more forgiving. If the ligher weight and a little bit more forgiveness allows you to be more agressive then with these factors you could get 5-10 yards.

Give the superfast a try. As far as technology that actually translates into distance, this one is a winner in my book. Although a wiener in looks.

I am soon to get fitted for a driver, I have jumped from TM, to Ping, now have an 07 Launcher which has done well and on a good drive I can get 250 or so out of it. I will be looking at the superfast driver and seeing if it is for me

I recently switched from my old TM R580(came out in 2003) to a R9 460. My drives are noticeably more explosive.

If you dont mind me asking, did you go with a stiff or regular shaft in your R9? I just got one with a stiff shaft and Im thinking about going back to regular to try and get more distance.

Regular shaft. My swing is mid to upper 90's and while I guess I could have justified going with a stiff shaft, I am much more consistent with the regular shaft.

I think there is some sort of perceived macho-ness associated with swinging a stiff flex but in my opinion a lot of people would be better suited with a regular shaft.

I normally choke down about an inch on my driver, the superfast has a superlong shaft. I wonder if choking it down about 2 1/2 would be really bad.

I am sold, definitely buying a new one and R9 460 is in my list.

Yep I agree with the second opinion, most golfers would be better off with regular flex.

No........ If you invest your money in Lessons, your SURE get some added distance ...

I totally agree with regular flex shafts for us common folk. A great many people would benefit from a slower swing speed with better tempo and timing.
