I bought a Ping K15 a couple of weeks ago. It's real easy to hit, both off the deck and off the tee.

I second the K15 3 wood, I also went out and traded some old drivers and got the K15 driver, it has helped me with driving.

In my Stand bag...
K15 9.5* Driver
K15 16* 3 Wood
Steelhead III 5 Wood
AP1 4-G Irons G15 20* and 23* Hybrid iWedge 56* 1/2 CRAZ-E Putter

Honestly. The Callaway FT-Squareway woods are soooooo easy to hit. They come off pure and have a lot of forgiveness. I find myself being able to shape my 5wood pretty well also. I replaced my ft-squareway 3wood with the new ft 3wood as I got more distance and control out of it.

Im looking at some 3 woods now as well, think the G15 would be better for a beginner then the K15? Dont really understand the difference.

I went with the K15 but I too was torn between it and the G15. I guess I just went with the newest and the fact the head was a little bigger and the added weight down low.

after having just tried a G15 5 wood with the shallow face on the driving range, I hit it long and straight. Frankly I was surprised.

Any thoughts on these woods: XCG3 Tour Exotics, Ping G15, Adams Speedline Fast 10, Baffler Rail.

Any others I should consider?

THANK YOU!

It's like it's always been said. Use/hit what works for you. Others may have great success with a stick that you just can't get the most out of and visa-versa. Take a couple of loaners out on the course, not the range, and hit a round or two with them. If you have a swing, a real swing, then you'll be able to hit anything. It will just come down to what YOU LIKE. None of us are pro's here, making a living on the PGA tour, we play the game because it's a GAME. Enjoy it as one. Wish you the best.

A teaching pro suggested this:

Hold your 3W or 4W full length for shots off the tee.

But from fairway, choke down about an inch to get better control.

Focus, connect and follow through!

Awards, Achievements, and Accolades

Have you ever tried the Callaway X Hot? (2007ish I believe) I used to have one of these. It has a head and face that are the same size as the original Big Bertha Driver, but at 15 degrees of loft, a 44" shaft, and a Carpenter steel face. I used to hit it as far as my 13 degree 3 wood. Problem is that I couldn't hit it off of the faiway consistantly. Great club, great feel, great looks, awesome sound at impact. Find one on Ebay real cheap!

After some consideration, I decided to go with Cobra S2 Fairway Wood. The club gets a lot of positive reviews and I got a pretty good deal out of it, too.

The head is beautiful and has a traditional look when it sits behind the ball. I am able to get 8-10 yards passed my old 3-wood without a lot of effort. I thought the club was excellent and I was glad I made the right choice. The fairway wood actually convinced me that I should get the S2 driver, to be honest with you. It's that good.

If you had a chance, try it, and you won't be sorry.

I have the S2 driver, great club and it looks fantastic. I don't really use the adjustment, I keep it in the neutral position. The have found the Cobras to be very easy to hit. I have the S3 3W and 7W. I tried the RBZ 5W but the jury is still out on that clubs. When I hit it well it really goes but it is not as consistant as the Cobras, at least for me.

    • I’m not sure I agree. It’s just what the majority find more entertaining. Most people prefer women’s gymnastics over men in the Olympics. How much hype is there with the men’s compared to the women’s? I bet you can rattle off several big names in women’s gymnastics and only a handful of men. Women’s tennis …same thing. And sure enough, their purses are the same. However, WNBA, awful…LPGA, not near as much interest than PGA. Don’t think it’s really that complicated IMO.

    • Hence your Avatar!😜 I drink a lot of water during the day if I’m playing or exercising. I get cramps otherwise.
    • If you walk up to a food/drink kiosk at Magic Kingdom and ask the person for a cup of "magic water" they will give you a small cup of Sprite for free. About 3 fingers worth. They don't sell alcohol at MK anymore so I go over to one of the courses while she hangs out there.
    • This isn't some kind of natural fact. It's a lot more complicated than this implies.
