@mvmac this (speeding up arms on dowmswing) was my focus with my swing when I mentioned keeping the left shoulder down. My left shoulder was lifting early while my arms were slow down. Any specific feels for you? Are you pulling the arms faster, focused on the butt of the club, etc? Any negative things that could occur from pulling the arms down faster that you should be aware of?

Just focusing on moving my arms down towards the ball faster. Like I said in the other post, feel like my right arm is straightening "past me".

Still focusing on speeding up the arms up on the downswing. Also spent some time feeling the right hip "climb" more from 2-4. Hip inclination was getting a little shallow and my hips were tucking under me too early on the downswing.

Swinging at about 60-70% speed on the right in order to change the picture.

Higher right hip at 4 gives me some more room on the downswing to get my arms more in front of me.

Better Key #3!

Haven't filmed a driver swing in a while. Thought I'd share.

Impressed on how you are getting on top of the ball just enough AND already on slight upswing at impact.

Still working on speeding up my arms and improving Key #3.

Feels:

- Big turn and high right hip to 4.

- Crunch (bend) the left hip from 4-5 as my arms swing hard and past me. Another feel I have when I'm doing these practice swing is when I feel the pressure "fall" into my left foot at 5 I'm springing up as hard and fast as I can.

Working on the same kind of feels but opening up more on the downswing. Helps "carry" the arms along with the pivot. It's been much easier to take divots and start lines have been pretty good. Amazing how slow the 2nd and 3rd swings felt, was trying to go 50%, feel ain't real.

Same feels on the backswing, right hip turning up and around but speeding up the whole movement.

Then on the downswing, opening up more with the lower body. Doing this by feeling my left knee move "around". To speed up the arms, I've been making a lot of fast 3/4 swings.

Making sure I keep my stupid monkey badge ;-)

Working on the same stuff as my last few posts.

First few swings I'm speeding up the backswing and arm swing by making 3/4 "fast" swings where I thump the ground. Other practice was feeling my lower body open up more on the downswing. Making sure I do that part slow and hold it for a second.

Really useful to see how you practice, Mike - lots of good stuff in here

Currently focusing on: Key 4 - shorter backswing.

Priorities are basically the same.

Working on....
- Getting the right hip "climbing" higher at A4.
- Left knee moves down and around from 4-5.

Swings from today.

Working on a couple things:
- Weight balanced at 1, was getting too much onto my toes.
- Same backswing feels.
- "Crunching" the left hip from 4-4.5 and when I feel the weight "land" on my left foot extend/thrust as fast as I can.

And here's how I'm practicing it.

    • Day 206 (24 Nov 24)  - An easy session with the 54deg wedge and hard foam balls / one simple goal - distance control thru backswing length while not decelerating.  Had a playing partner comment they noticed me decelerating on a couple short wedge shots in last round.  Hit from distances from close to 40yds down to 20.
    • Musgrove Mill hole #15 was converted to a par 3 after Hurricane Helene. Today, I had 145 from the tee which is a perfect 9-iron for me. I aimed just right of the hole and pulled it a few feet. Clanked off the stick down into the hole and ricocheted out of the hole 13’ away. Drained the putt for a birdie after repairing the hole which was damaged . Not sure if it would have counted as a HIO, but I was pretty excited!
    • Day 55 - 2024-11-24 Did five levels of Operation 36 on GSPro (different courses). 🙂 Was -4 from 200 yards (32) intentionally laying up on each hole (i.e. not hitting a 5I or something). Shot… 22, 24, 26 from 25, 50, and 100 yards. I forget my 150-yard score, but obviously it was < 36. Putting was odd… (and I did it with the wedge or a 7I or whatever was in my hand).
