In all fairness bro, you are comparing two really different shafts that feel COMPLETELY different

5B1M playability factor. I find the these shafts have variable descriptions on websites. I do not want a medium launch and if that is the case with the V2 I will probably look at a different shaft. According to Maltby the V2 fits what I would play. What you have shown, if correct, I would like the PL original. I had another day of ballooning drives so I will be changing this over the winter probably and will make an attempt to get into the golf shop in Boston to get fitted. I am trying to get an idea of what I would like to use and see now your information made this thread valuable to me just as the others who have answered also. Therefor not useless...

the information is correct...i pulled it all from the OEM's websites

which you also could have done to see the specs on all the shafts as you mentioned tho, get into a shop and get fit but really.....$19.99 to "test" a shaft, is pretty cheap (if that shaft is what you are looking for) IMO, until you test drive it on the course in real world conditions, a LM will mean nothing

Yellow and black shaft looks badass. If you were 100% torn, and had to go on looks, there's my opinion. The Proforce plays stiffer than standard stiff, and the prolaunch is a little bit more flexible. <-- the extent of my knowledge
What I Play:
Wilson Mini Stand Bag | PING G10, 10.5°, Proforce V2 HL S | PING G5, 15°, 18°, Aldila NV 75 S | PING G5, 19°, Aldila VS Proto By You 80 S
Mizuno MX200 4-PW S | Ping Tour W 50/12 X | Ping Tour W 58/TS X | A selection of putters, all 35.5 inches.

please don't buy a shaft because it looks "badass".....please........

i assume your referring to the PL Red playing slightly less flexible than the V2? the Original PL Red will play approx 1/2 a flex stronger than it is stated too, assuming its installed in a normal head (like an R9, not a borethrough head) the Axis play pretty true to flex

Ok. You talked me into it, along with stats from their website and a fear that x-stiff shaft would be too stiff. I bid on one on ebay from rbg. I will let you know if I win it.

Ok so I ordered the Prolaunch shaft and a Tacki Mac grip but I am installing it in the 10.5 440cc Cobra driver head instead of the R7. The R7 limited will get the shaft if I like it in the Cobra otherwise it will be getting a UST Mamiya Proforce V2 65 Tour Flight in 74 grams sometime over the winter.

I was joking man. I literally don't know enough about the two to help out, so that's why I said if you were torn, i prefer the look of the proforce. And Proforce shafts play a lot stiffer than standard dude, they just do.

i just had my PL Red installed and tried it out today for the first time
VERY VERY nice shaft
this thing is smooth like butter and has a great penetrating launch angle that pierces the wind
tough call on the roll, as the fwy's r hard as rock this time of year, but i GUARANTEE i picked up 10-15yds of carry w this shaft in my R9
compared to my stock Fubuki shaft, this PL Red destroys it

altho today was my last rnd of the year, im excited to groove it in next year

They are both different shafts. One is a midkick (Proforce), and highkick (Axis Red). 64 g and 75 g is a big gap difference for a shaft weight. I feel >70 g shaft is way too heavy for me.

Selecting shaft must be done based on your own Swing DNA and not other opinion. If you ask me, I prefer Aldila NVS....
Whats in my Golf Bag:
Driver: Nike Sumo 5000
5 Wood: Mizuno MP-001
Iron: Mizuno MX-950 5-PW
Wedge: Cobra FP 60 degrePutter: Odyssey 2-BallBall: Yellow balls

I wanted a heavier shaft in the axis but only 64 was offered, the Proforce V2 "tour flight" is a mid to low launch.

Had the PL shaft installed with a Cobra 440cc 10.5 degree head. It is cut a bit shorter than my normal club, 44.5". I hope to use it next Thursday.

    • Probably since the golfer has to swing the club back and up. The hands have to move back and up. You can feel them go back and up just by turning the shoulders and bending the right arm, because it brings your hands towards your right shoulder.  The difference is if you maintain width or not. Less width means a shorter feeling swing path so the more you need to lift the arms. Being as someone who gets the right arm bend at 110+ degrees, it's 100% a timing issue. I am use to like a 1.5+ second backswing. It probably should be like 1 second at most. Half a second or more will feel like an eternity. I have had swings where I keep my right arm straighter and I am still trying to time the downswing based on the old tempo.  Ideally, for me, it is probably going to be a much quicker and shorter (in duration) backswing, while keeping the right elbow straighter. Which also means more hinging to get swing length without over swinging.

    • I'm currently recuperating from surgery, so no golf, but have been thinking about this quite a bit. This and the don't overbend the right arm thing. It's hard for me to even pose the position, so I'm not 100% sure, but I feel like it's impossible to have the right humerus along the shirt seam and not overbend your right arm, unless your hands are down near your hips. If the left arm is up at or above the shoulder plane and your right arm is bent less than 90 degrees, then your right humerus has to raise or your hands will get pulled apart. Your left hand can't reach your right hand unless either the right upper arm is up or the right arm is overbent. Is that right? If it is, then focusing on not overbending the right arm would force you to raise the humerus. And actually thinking further on it, if you do overbend your right arm, then you're basically forcing your upper arm down or forcing your left arm to bend. Since (for me at least) bending the left arm too much is not something I think I need to worry about, it means that the bend in the trail arm is really the driving force behind what happens to the right humerus.
    • I managed to knock off a 3, a 13, and a 15 a couple of weeks ago. The 3 was a 185 yard par 3 with a 6 iron to 12 feet. 13 was a 350 yard par 4, which was a 2 iron and a 9 iron to about a foot. 15 was a 560 yard par 5 with a driver in a bunker, 4 iron into the semi, gap wedge to 8 feet and a putt.
