So due to work lay-offs and inevitable hour cut-backs I feel pinched to sell my MP 58s : (

With this said I do not want to stop playing, so I will need a cheap replacement set - sub $150. I always hear good things about Ping Eye 2s and Titleist 755s so those are two I was thinking about...any other suggestions to look into, since I don't know much about older equipment?

Thanks guys.

Sell something else! Become a gigolo! There has to be a better way to come up with cash than getting rid of nice clubs.

If you are so strapped that $350 is going to make a difference you shouldn't be playing any golf at this point.

Really dude? If you aren't going to answer the question, why post?

And yes, $350 would be nice to have to help with student loans, should I lose hours or my job. As far as playing goes, I practice at my house...last time I checked that was free.

Yes, really. You asked for advice and I gave it to you. I'm sorry you didn't like it, but thems the breaks kid. Last time I checked, it costs money to play golf. Practicing isn't playing.

Agreed...if money is a problem and you need to sell your clubs, I would suggest that your $350 would go a lot further if you you didn't play period. However, as you don't see that as providing advice, as per the title of the thread, go to walmart and get a "nice" set from there.

I have been playing Ping Eye 2's for 25+ years. I love them but as you can see from my thread I was looking to upgrade to today's technology and I was looking to purchase new clubs. I would try ebay for used clubs and you can't go wrong with the Ping Eye 2.

Ping Eye2's, PING ISI's, Titleist DCI, Ping i-3's... there are a slough of clubs you can buy for sub $150. Look on craigslist. I always find great clubs that are less than 10 years old selling for like $100.

Unless you can't afford groceries, keep the clubs. Nothing to think about here. I think you will regret your current course of action. Perhaps save money somewhere else. Buy cheaper groceries, don't eat out, don't smoke or drink beer/liquor, have a garage sell, pick up extra cash mowing lawns or raking leaves, etc.. Trim the sails elsewhere is my suggestion.

These, I really like mine and these are only $75... Not too positive on the condition, but you said cheap.

Heck, here's a link to all the available RH iron sets at global, in ascending order. Just from glancing at the first couple of pages, I see Wilson Ci6, Mizuno MX-17, Cleveland TA6, Ben Hogan, Nickent, etc. right around $100. If you've got to sell a more expensive set but still want to have some irons around, then plenty of cheap options out there.
