My club's teaching pro picked up a few of the small YES! putting mirrors in their current fire sale and passed one along to me. It looks like this:

Found a nice guide to usage here: http://www.golfinternationalmag.com/.../pageflip.html and spent about an hour with it on the practice green, learning a few interesting things. For example, I set up with open shoulders and my eyes outside the target line, when I actually need my eyes slightly inside the line in order to see a flat putt as flat. May be why I've been trying to bend everything in the right side of the cup!

Anyway, it seems like lots of folks make similar products (Eyeline, GEL, Izzo etc.) and they're generally fairly inexpensive. I think it's a worthwhile piece of kit and I'm going to keep it in my bag to check my setup every week or so.

Anyone else use one of these?

I use something similar to this. Putting is the weakest part of my game and my set up needs a lot of maintenance.

My common faults:
* Dominant eye (right) is way too far inside my target line
* My head sways during the stroke
* I look up too quickly after I stoke the ball
* Right shoulder is open too far (I'm a lefty)

I spend about 30 minutes a week using this aid in my basement and notice a significant improvement on the course in the following days.

I've been using the Dave Pelz Putting Tutor, which costs a bit more (like $60 w/ shipping/tax). I've been happy with it as far as helping me hit the ball straighter. I discovered I was opening my club face sometimes. This helped me get a rythym for keeping it aligned. I've been liking it.

In my Grom Stand bag:

Driver: Ping G20, 8.5 Tour Stiff
Wood/Hybrid: G20 3W, Raylor 19*, 22*
Irons: R9 5I - SW, TM CGB LW

Putter: Scotty Cameron Kombi-Mid

Favorites: Old Ranch (Seal Beach), Ike/Babe (Industry Hills), Skylinks (Long Beach), Desert Willow (Palm Desert)

    • So, I might have to get out of the C-Taper golf shaft. I have an older Mizuno with a KBS Tour shaft in. I was messing around with closing my eyes and feeling where the weight of the club is being felt at. The C-Taper was all in my fingers. I didn't feel much of anything of the club head or shaft of the club. It felt super heavy in my hands. The KBS Tour I could feel a weight further away from my hands, out in space.  The Mizuno weights 2 grams more, but is about 2-3 swing weights lighter than my current irons.  So, yea. I am thinking I might sense the club better with maybe a less stout golf shaft and maybe a lighter swing weight. Probably more to do with the golf shaft. I am thinking the feeling of the weight out in space is more of the shaft loading more easily.
    • Day 25 (2 Apr 26) - Worked on green side chips at the course before helping with the school golf tournament today.  Worked on low flighted spinners to get solid hop and stops.
    • Day 227 4-2 Chest and hip turn with flow drill. Trying to get a rhythm to the hip movement/less segmented feeling.
    • A bit back at it tonight. I just wanted to add in the feel of a softer left arm through out the backswing. This helps me hinge the club. I make sure I am not bending it a ton, but not straightening it. It helps feel like I can keep the club in front of me more and lift the club up sooner.
    • If you make assumptions excessively favorable to Tiger that leave out the best arguments for Jack that most people would never use to evaluate greatness in other sports and didn't use to measure greatness in golf until Tiger got injured, then sure. Here is how Gemini rates both of them just in major output with a prompt to generously subsidize Tiger's record because of field strength. And also the answer to the question who had more longevity Jack or Tiger.  Hopefully this puts the trutherism to rest.
