Very nice. I think Martin got a bit nervous (maybe? considering the wind conditions?) when asked to hit the draw and closed the clubface to end up hitting a pull draw to make sure the ball ended up left. If he would have let the clubface stay open, I think he would have hit a nice push draw.

This video exemplifies why I don't watch that show or read magazine tips. Lots of misinformation.

Good post to bring people to this forum. I can't stand that 'Golf Fix' guy...bad information and I want to shoot him he's so 'jacked up'.

I don't think he would have. A push, maybe, but I don't think he was in enough to hit a push-draw. Consider how far outside his foot line the camera was and how little "under" the club appeared even from that view at P6.

I think the only real way he knows how to hit a draw is a pull-draw. You saw his massive pull-slice before it.

Yes, I was expecting a much tighter shot cone from a major championship winner.

I think I have read a thread on this show before (maybe the Tour Pros: Draw v. Fade thread) and it's obvious that he didn't hit the shots that they were looking for...maybe a number of different variables coming into play, who knows. What I learn is that Michael Breed may not be the best at articulating what he's trying to get across very well. AND what we feel like we are doing may look completely different.

I think it's safe to say that Martin Kaymer can hit better draws and fades than what we saw in this show or he wouldn't be near the top of the world rankings.

That was just flat out a pull with a touch of draw.

A touch of draw? My push-draws don't draw that much. Heck, my duck hooks barely draw that much.

Muhu, please don't bash my fellow countryman... Really bad performance, though.
The least thing Marting could do is smile and keep silent - that was well done :D Even Breed made the best of it, but to the average golfer it is totally misleading. Doesn't the golf channel have editors reviewing such things before airing? Breed should've prevented it. Or was it live?

When I saw the "fade" I chalked it up to the wind (which appeared to be going left-to-right). Then I saw the "draw". Imagine what that would have been without wind!

And was Breed wearing pink pants?

It just looked ugly to me. It seemed like he just pull the hell out of it.

I believe the idea of the show is that it's live. So I don't believe the magic of editing was available.

Yeah, Martin Kaymer sucks. How can he be the best player in the world when he can't stay within his shot cones?!?!? What a ridiculous, f*****g poser!!! An he has the audacity to be German on top of it! He can't even hit a proper draw! How'd he even get a tour card? He's no Charlie Wi, that's for damn sure!

Look at Martin's face at 3:26 he knows that, that shot went terribly bad, but I believe that he felt a bit of pressure hahaha!

Cheers!

Cool down - no need to go right wing on someone here. Your statement is very offending...

    • Day 49 - 2024-11-18 Light day of HackMotion work in the basement with my putting. Suffice to say my feels very closely align with what is measured.
    • Day 200 (18 Nov 24) - Broke out the MacGregor blades to do some “vintage” club pitches and chips.  Focus was on alignment and where I am looking in relation to the ball…have been working on finding a focal point about 3-6 inches ahead of the ball (toward the target) and not staring at the ball.  Getting very predictable strikes.  Overall it was a fun drill session and will serve as a warmup to tomorrow’s planned front 9 walk with these irons and persimmon woods and of course a “new” putter - a Acushnet Bullseye…
    • TV ratings  continue to drop. Stop the endless wiggles and waggles.
    • I believe that losing a tour card is too extreme but definitely agree that more needs to be done to prevent slow play.
    • Its way past time both tours  have  major  penalties for  slow  play. I  hate  it when they say" This group is  on the  clock". Big damn deal. Issue  penalties. Maybe Hull is a  bit too harsh but  its time a slew  of  2 stroke  penalties start  being  issued.     Charley Hull is fed up with slow play on the LPGA, so she offered a ‘ruthless’ solution “I’m quite ruthless, but I said, ‘Listen, if you get three bad timings, every time it’s a tee shot penalty; if you have three of them, you lose your Tour card instantly.’ I’m sure that would hurry a lot of people up, and they won’t want to lose their Tour card. That would kill the slow play, but they would never do that.” Who knows if that will work. But if it does not, maybe the PGA Tour should adopt Hull’s idea. The LPGA should, too, or at least assess penalty strokes for slow play. Five-hour rounds for a final group on Sunday is unacceptable and a quick way to lose interest and engagement from fans.
