I'm not sure anyone will see this in time, but I'm writing this the night before. I just wondered if anyone had any strong feelings for picking a winner?

I think Adam Scott is due, but Vijay just turned up a notch and found his putter. I'm going to go with Vijay. The guy is a rock on Sunday and he's also over due. Anyone else have a prediction?

Maybe between the ga-jillion commercials on ABC/ESPN you can make your pick.

Cleveland Golf would LOVE to see Vijay win using the HiBore which hasn't taken off in sales as Vijay has not had a great year. Talked to a golf store owner and he said has only sold a few of the HiBore . . . no one at Q-school was using it, I have one and like it a lot but Vijay is the main guy using it and he needs to win to promote it. It's a great club for the average golfer.

Now, prediction . . . Scott, i like to see new winners

K.J.Choi hasn't got that tin can driver working this week, hmmmm, have to wait and see about that driver.

If Vijay is using a HiBore this week, it's probably the 2007 version. I think he just flat out dropped the 2K6 version a long time ago.

I don't know what driver Vijay is using, but it is 'new'.

I know he stopped using the Hi-bore because it was too straight; he felt he couldn't work the ball as much as he'd like to. Yesterday I heard him say he's using a new driver but I don't know what it is yet.

Regardless, I thought lately his putting has been letting him down, on Saturday he was sinking everything.

It was a nice victory for Adam Scott. It's unfortunate that he didn't win the event with Tiger and Phil in the tournament, but hopefully people won't take that away from him. He played well enough to win no matter who else was playing, and I'm happy for that.

I've never seen him putt so well coming down the stretch, and that was certainly the difference. I think he had nine one-putts yesterday which is out of this world on greens like that. That's almost Retief-like at Shinnecock in 2004.

Adam Scott is definitely going to get the "next rival to Tiger" talk for the next 6 months, so I hope he is ready for it. There isn't any reason why he shouldn't be the next challenger, although nobody has successfully stepped up to this point. I'm looking forward to seeing how 2007 goes for Scott. The past Tour Championship winners haven't really played that well in the following seasons, or at least as much as I expect them to.

I agree. Adam had this coming, and as odd as this sounds, I think it puts a new pressure on him. I think the media will be looking to him to challenge Tiger. 'Grats to Adam Scott. I'm sure he's going to be a 'contender' for years to come.

    • Hi @RetiredOldMan!  I am glad to see you are still playing and having good scores.  I hope that when I am 79, I am not only able to play, but still able to produce as good scores as you have been doing.   I look forward to hearing more of your success and your opinion of the senior flex shafts.
    • Hello Golfing Buddies, It has been awhile since I posted but I am the Retired Old Man that asked for advice because I suffered two "T.I.A.'s about switching from playing right handed to playing left handed.  I purchased a Callaway Edge Left handed golf clubs. I changed the grips to oversize grips.  Well, two weeks ago and still at 79 years old, I shot a 44 and 47 on a small course in my hometown.  I am currently changing my shafts from regular flex to Senior flex.  So, you can see' it can be done! So, you other old timers; get with the program! Blessings to all of you. Retired Old Man (Terry Warner)

    • Probably since the golfer has to swing the club back and up. The hands have to move back and up. You can feel them go back and up just by turning the shoulders and bending the right arm, because it brings your hands towards your right shoulder.  The difference is if you maintain width or not. Less width means a shorter feeling swing path so the more you need to lift the arms. Being as someone who gets the right arm bend at 110+ degrees, it's 100% a timing issue. I am use to like a 1.5+ second backswing. It probably should be like 1 second at most. Half a second or more will feel like an eternity. I have had swings where I keep my right arm straighter and I am still trying to time the downswing based on the old tempo.  Ideally, for me, it is probably going to be a much quicker and shorter (in duration) backswing, while keeping the right elbow straighter. Which also means more hinging to get swing length without over swinging.
