can i ask, if youve never hit one, why did you want one?

I never said I wanted one. I wanted a Anser style putter becuase that's the head style I like and wanted a firmer insert.

My golf buddy, who also happens to be a very good friend of mine, bought me a Scotty because my bag is filled with Titleist clubs and he though that would be a great addition to my bag. Did I want one? No. Am I happy I got one? Yes. Would you not be ecstatic if you found out that you would get a Scotty in a couple of days?

Congratulations Andef!

I think thats pretty awesome to get something like that from a friend. My buddy gave me a nice 3 wood when I started and I love it, not only can I hit it well, it was MINT!

Getting something for your birthday like golf equipment is pretty cool, I recently got a new putter that I love for my birthday.

I'm very grateful of the present. I'm returning the kind act seeing as he really likes the Newport 2. After that, we'll have the same irons, wedges and putter :P

My emotion would also be a tad short ecstasy, but you gotta admit, it's a very nice gesture.

absolutely. its a very nice gift. i would just feel awful if i tried it out and putted better with/liked my old putter better.

      Tale of two swings.  Swing 1: Slightly outside takeaway (hands move outside of target line) only to allow trail elbow over collapsing at P4. Doesn't take much to overdo it for the trail elbow collapse to only further exaggerate. That's death. Swing 2: Hands stay slight in at takeaway for a much better trail elbow condition at P4. This is a hard sell from an instinct perspective. More focus on un-weighting and re-weighting of lead foot to unlock a bit more mobility of hips and torso. A major flaw that creeps up often is me swinging flat footed and becoming overly armsy-collapsy as a result. Got reminded of this the hard way during my 2nd round match for club net championship. Was cruising along 2up until I made the turn. Then lost the swing for next five holes. Andy was playing good enough to capitalize. By the time I regained my swing on 16th, it was too late. Even Andy was like "That was a gift". Obviously that stings because have played well enough lately. Should have closed him out of the game comfortably with a few holes to spare. Shoulda woulda coulda. Tough lesson. Damn. P.S. I know the swings look very similar but trust me there is a difference.
