This is interesting... a school in Houston is adding a driving range to the campus.

This is the link.

In my :nike:  bag on my :clicgear: cart ...

Driver: :ping: G10 9*    3-Wood: :cleveland: Launcher
Hybrid: :adams: 20* Hybrid      Irons: :ping: i5 4-GW - silver dot, +1/2"
Wedges: :cleveland: 56* (bent to 54*) and 60* CG10     Putter: :ping: Craz-e (original blue)

Have they taken out insurance for this?

If so, what did it cost in round numbers? (perhaps as a fraction of the annual school budget)

Driver: Cobra 460SZ 9.0, med.
3 Wood: Taylor stiff
3-hybrid: Nike 18 deg stiff
4-hybrid: Taylor RBZ 22 deg regular
Irons:5-9, Mizuno MP30, steel
Wedges: PW, 52, 56, 60 Mizuno MP30
Putter: Odyssey 2-ball

I took some clubs out to the fields behind my high school a few times. There are some baseball/soccer/lacrosse fields about 3/4 of a mile from the high school surrounded by trees, so people were rarely there. No one seemed to care. I could only hit wedges though.

There are plenty of high schools with their own golf courses, let alone just a rinky dink driving range. In New Jersey alone, the Lawrenceville School comes to mind since they have the oldest 9-hole course in the state. The Peddie School has an 18 hole course. Both are on the schools' campus and are only allowed to be used by the students, faculty, and alumni.

IMO they would do better to put in squash courts than a driving range. Young people need to get more real EXERCISE - work up a sweat for 45 min to an hour.
