Who here finds that they spend at least an hour at there local golf store on any given visit? Do you take multiple trips to the golf store? Or do you just go to a golf store for specific items? If so do you always buy, usually buy, seldom buy, never buy?

I go to the store mainly to see if I like the way a club feels before I purchase it online.  I have been finding my visits to the local Golf Town less and less exciting.  I have gotten to a point this year where until the new releases come out, there isn't anything I haven't seen 1000 times before.

At least an hour, no but I have spent some time in a couple of stores familiarizing myself with what equipment is out there these days.  Don't take multiple trips but do go for specific items and yes, I usually buy something when I go.  To me, I'd rather support the local store(s) than buy online for the simple reason I want to support local business.

I shop. I check out the used equipment for deals and I'm there for 1 hr. and go about 2wice a month with nothing specific in mind to purchase...usually.

I go in to try out clubs don't really browse so I'm usually in and out fairly quick. I do most of my browsing and shopping online.

I like to go in just for the hell of it... I'm usually there for anywhere from 45 minutes to an hour looking at whatever new used clubs they have in and demoing whatever is in the demo section... I'd say about half the time I'll walk out with something small like glove or maybe balls...

I almost always hit the little putting greens in the stores to see if I can drain a few. If I go there I usually buy something, or have some sort of purpose being there. But I always find myself poking around at stuff I don't need. For instance, the last time I was in the local golf shop, I was returning a Vokey, and I ended up walking out with a new set of irons. I'm not really a fan of hitting clubs in to a net without any sort of launch monitor, though, but I will stoke a few while I'm in there to get the lead out.

I tend to go to second hand golf shops and try out different mid irons or somthing like that. I'll find something odd and hit that around for awhile. Rumor is there is a Hammer in stock at this 2nd Swing near my work. Gonna have to see what's like to hit a 400 yard snap hook.

I buy plenty of stuff from them including my last set of clubs, but I do not participate in their club card. 3% coupon does not earn my loyalty and I actually find it insulting. Good customer service earns my business and they treat me right. Most of the guys in there know me but I typically only work with their pro who also works with my kid on the high school golf team.

When a company makes a club in the USA I will proudly display their brand here. All of mine were made in china by somebody making $2 a day. Shame on you Mr club manufacture.

Was in GG tonight for about an hr. and 1/2 hitting different drivers...no purchase, but I do have some gift cards burning a hole in my pocket. I found I like the Adams Fast 10.

I try to stay as far away as the golf store as I can unless I'm going there to buy something. I hate going to them because if I do I'll probably end up buying something. I just try to tell myself I just need to keep saving up for a new car.

I don't care if it is golf item or any other item related to my hobby, but I hate shopping (especially window shopping).

I go to a store (including golf stores) only if I need something.  And even then, I only go and get what I need.

I get my tweak online. if i need to demo something i'll go to the store but i'm always checking ebay and craigslist. everything in my bag is from ebay or tgw. a lot of my old stuff was also from ebay and craigslist. if i can find it 8/10 condition i'd much rather get it used than new.

I went into Golfsmith today to exchange a driver and at one point I had 2 wedges 50* loft and another fairway wood ready to be purchased. Thankfully I came to my senses and decided to just pick out a new driver throw on crossline mids and be gone. Still want a 50* loft wedge.

i go in pretty often, and tend to spend about 45mins in there.  i usually go in to try out a bunch of different clubs on the simulator just for fun, or try something out that i'm eyeing on craigslist or ebay.  i hardly ever buy any brand new clubs from them as the markup is so high, especially here in Canada.  i just went in the other day and bought a demo R9 5wood, 9/10 condition for $75.

Totally off topic, but why a 5 wood when you play a 19* hybrid? How big are your yardage gaps between driver, 5w, and 19* hybrid?
