I am currently hitting the AP2's that a buddy loaned me, and i really like them.  I am going to get a new set in February and i am wondering if i should get the MB's or get my own AP2's.  I read that the MB's are for the more skilled players, so that has me kinda gun shy.  So is there that big a difference between the two?  Or what do you think I should do?

You try the MBs and if you like them better than the AP2s, you get them.

In the race of life, always back self-interest. At least you know it's trying.

This. I wanted the AP2's until I hit my CB's. The MB's and CB's are "for the skilled" player, but I can hit them fine. I have my mis-hits, but who doesnt? I think the AP2's just provide a little more forgiveness.

if at all possible try them both out... If you can't for some reason than I say go with the AP2s as you know you like those for sure.

That's kinda what i was thinking.  I just dont want to spend the money on a new set of MB's and then realized I liked the AP2's better and wished i would have bought a new set of them.  Because whatever I get I am going to have them fitted to me

Just get the musclebacks already. Here's a sampling of irons you could pick up and have adjusted 10 ways from Sunday to fit your height, strength, swing, whatever.

I was reponding to the last sentence in post #1.

You didn't ask why. If you've looked at all other club manufacturers and narrowed your choices to these two irons based on the head design, blade size, appearance, grind, etcetera then flip a coin.

Personally I wouldn't buy the AP2s because if I was in the market for GI/players forged iron, I wouldn't want a version with forged pieces welded together, and the addition of vibration dampeners which trick you into thinking you're making more solid contact than you are - on every shot. But hey, that's just me.

Try both and see what works best for your game.  I've played the mp33s for 5+ years and it's helped me become a better golfer.  I do play once a week and try to practice for 3 hours during the week on my short game and putting.

What I like about the mb irons is the feedback for slightly off shots so I can make the adjustments and get back on track.  My best rounds have been with the mb irons, -3,-1 & even for 18 holes.
