Hi Golfers,

This is a hello from Taiwan.

We, party of 6, are heading to Phoenix at the end of April for 5-day golf adventure. I am wondering if there any chance to get a agent to book the decent golf courses with reasonable green fees?

Any suggestion? I really appreciate for your help.

This may help you get started in looking for the kind of courses you want to play:

You can book tee times on your own thus avoiding the cost of having to pay an agent to secure your tee times.

April green fee rates will be a bit cheaper than the winter rates… but not by much. For example, you can book a tee time (1 player for the Stadium Course) at TPC Scottsdale at the end of April for $216. This is less than the $299 it costs to play it now; but again, not by much. The trade-off for people like me who live here is that I can play it in the summer when it’s only $50, but it is also 115°F.

Good advice. Thanks a lot. Booking on the website is the only way to get the price quote? In asia, we usually can get a discounted offer from the travel agent instead of booking the tee time ourself. The agent can negotiate with the club to get a discounted group fee most of the time.

Maybe this is the different way of doing business in USA??

I've always booked myself for Phoenix, but have used middlemen in other places. Point is, I can't vouch for these places personally but they look ok. Maybe someone else can vouch for them. Just Google Arizona golf packages for more.

Best way to get discounted tee times here is through the web. The web has put most travel agents in this country out of business.

    • Day 121: did a bit of mirror work with my driver. Working on shortening the backswing.
    • Day 305 - Grip and backswing work. Full swings were bothering the hip a bit.
    • Day 56 - 2024-11-15 Light day. Lots of catch-up work. Checked the grip to make sure I wasn't compensating there, and did a little backswing work.
    • Day 197 (15 Nov 24) - Played in the Friday men’s group outing - blustery conditions in play (wind gusting 10-20; spotty pop up misting rain; temps in the mid 50’s), so it was a good day to work on course management.  Solid round of 83 (41/42) - 7 GIR, total 32 putts - included 10 pars (3 being up and downs), a dbl and triple bogie.
    • Have been on a mid to low 80’s roll of late - today was no different with an 83 (41 front / 42 back).   Played in the Friday men’s group outing - blustery conditions in play (wind gusting 10-20; spotty pop up misting rain; temps in the mid 50’s), so it was a good day to work on course management, delivering 7 GIR, total 32 putts - included 10 pars (3 being up and downs), a dbl and triple bogie.  Local course starting to get that winter feel - wet areas wetter, thin grass thinner, greens  trickier.
