Has anyone hit the Adams F11 3 wood? I don't use a driver so I am trying to find a wood that will give good distance.

I hit one last weekend against a few others at golf galaxy.  I can't give a great review, as I don't care for the Voodoo shaft that was in the tester.  The head looked and felt good, shots were nothing out of the ordinary however.

The distance was on-par with the Superfast 3, better shots rolled out to 270 carrying around 250 yards.  I really loved the Cobra S2 3 wood with the Fuji Fit-On Max shaft, it was an awesome club.  This was a great feeling combo for me, great feedback at impact too.

Have you tried higher lofted drivers? You may do very well with an 11 or 12* driver with a shaft fit for you.  It will give you a little more distance than a 3 wood while you gain confidence. Sorry, OT I know, but maybe it is something to think about.

This is a great point.  Don't rule out a higher lofted driver w/ or w/out a shorter shaft.  Drivers are easier to hit than ever, and I think a modern driver is definitely easier to hit off of a tee than a 3 wood.  Try choking down a couple inches so the shaft is about 43" (3 wood length).

Anyone else wonder why adams doesn't make a black fairway wood to match their black drivers and hybrids, irons etc.? This thing would be hot shit if they blacked it out, and it would hide the channels a little better, too.

I agree. I guess they are trying to put attenion on them kind of like TaylorMade's red plate and large cutouts for the screws, but for most enthusiasts I am thinking they would be better hidden. I think a flat black could look really good.

Their black finish doesn't wear worth a poop.

I hit one on a simulator, but it was hard to tell exactly how it "plays." Carry was good. Feel was good. I personally liked it, but Im becoming an Adams guy more and more. Im thinking about replacing my current 3 wood with this new Fast 11. I wont be giving up my PING i15 5 wood though, that thing is money!!

In my Ogio bag.

Titleist 910D2 driver, Adams irons & hybrid, Callaway wedges & a Nike Method putter.

And a yellow ball.

I've got one of the super hybrids, and I actually like that it wears out a little. The sweet spot is getting a bit of wear and it looks kinda cool. I like the blacked out woods (Adams, TM, Titleist, Cobra etc.)

    • I mean there has to be some thought. For eg., something like 'soft knees and wrists' at set up and maybe a dynamic 'left arm to chin' as a trigger to start DS. I have these one or two anchor thoughts and have served me well. In fact, my wildest swings are the one where I have no thoughts or if I forget to walk thru my anchor thoughts. In contrast my best rounds are where I am consistent with the anchor thoughts.    OTOH, if I am running my entire half hour lesson (hypothetical) with some pro that I had last Saturday or whatever before every swing then I'm probably in trouble before I even get over the ball.
    • Two bits. Bit 1 The NCAA's appeal of Brendan Sorsby being granted a temporary injunction will not be heard until February, so there will be nothing to prevent Sorsby from playing the full season and potential CFP.  Bit 2 The Big Ten Conference will hold a meeting and is expected to ban all of its athletic programs from playing Texas Tech in the regular season. Georgia has done the same. The SEC will meet to consider a similar ban. Fellow Big 12 members TCU and Kansas State are spearheading a similar ban, but the conference charter might not allow it. Meanwhile, Big 12 athletic directors are meeting this week to explore what options the conference might have.
    • No, but I'm also in disagreement that golfers have no thoughts over the golf ball, and/or don't ever think I've met someone I truly believe is thinking nothing but "target" or something on most shots.
    • StuM,  I have, in the past, added a left handed club. (Ususally a 7 iron) However, I usually take a stroke penalty and move the ball to where I want it.  I play for fun and in a pinch can use theback side if my club if I don't want the penalty stroke.    RetiredOldMan,  Terry
