Hi,

Am polishing my swing at the driving range so when i hit the greens, hopefully I wont slow down the other group from behind. haha!

How often should your swing be accurate before you are considered a consistent swinger?

The golf swing is an extremely personal thing! haha

An accurate golf swing is a lifelong quest, when you have one, let me know!

Will you be playing by yourself?  If so the clubhouse will most likely stick you with a group, I wouldn't worry too much about holding up the group behind you.  If you are too slow just let them play through!

I have some buds with me, normally a group of 3 but they've been playing for a couple of years now.  Am trying to improve so i can cope to their game level and surprise them with my swing when we play on weekends.. Thanks for the response.. I'll take it one swing at a time..

From experience most of us golfers are calm and go out to enjoy a nice day, so I would rush your swing to much just take it nice and slow till you feel the confidence to go for those shots that could put you in trouble. And first of all enjoy yourself, dont let a few bad shots ruin your round!

Cheers

The best thing is to just play "ready" golf.

When your bud is hitting, walk over to your ball if it is near, decide what club you will hit as you are approaching your ball.

Take a couple of practice swings and then launch it.

When you are on the putting green - same thing.  Line it up and be ready to take your turn.

I don't think golfers are upset by people who need a little more time. But, I don know that most golfers get hacked off by guys who are daydreaming until it is their turn to hit - and they are not ready.

You sound like you have a good head on your shoulders, so I don't suspect that you would make this mistake.

I'm polishing my swing too but how does the saying go? "you can't polish a turd" I've been to the driving range a lot more than i've actually played at a course because you can get a large bucket of balls for $6 at the driving range up the street from me so it's worth going there. I also hit a small to medium size bucket at the range on whichever course I'm playing before I start to get loose and hopefully help my game a little.
