Heard over loudspeaker at local driving range with strong wind from the left: "Attention everyone. We have workers on the right side of the range. If you could focus on turning your shots over to the left, that would be appreciated.  Thank you."

I doubled over laughing....he probably just meant "aim left", but it sounded really funny at the time.

I'd laugh a bit too.  Lord knows how frustrating it would be to slice the ball in a left-to-right wind and then hear that.

I feel like informing everyone of the fact that they will be working on the right side could be counter-productive because of all the people who will start gambling on who can hit the first head... haha!

this is to much. when I worked at my local course, I hated making announcements like this for the golf range cause it was on the fly and everyone hears what you say, even on the course. I didn't want to sound dumb. I'm sure the golf starter thought he messed up when he said it.

You can tell these people are morons. What their announcement said was whatever it said, but what people heard or wanted to hear or decided to hear was "Hey, hit your balls at those defenseless jackasses over there on the right side of the range!"

Is this a part of some elaborate plan to get rid of slicers?

I had an almost incident one time at a course. Was hitting a 3 wood off the tee, lots of bunkers on the left side of the fairway with a bunch of guys working in it. They didn't care we played, so I just had to make sure I didn't hit them. I'd been hitting some pulls that day, so I wasn't super confident. I set up so I thought I could never hit them. The ball started straight for the fairway, then slowly curved towards them, landing two yards from where they were working. They were working with machines, so yelling fore would have been as useful as praying if the ball should go their way.

I hate playing with workers out on the course. makes me a little nervous to hit. they don't even stop working. it's as if we aren't there hitting a ball at them traveling 150 mph. I guess they have the hard hats, so they feel it is safe.
