quick question on the out of bounds rule. is the ball concidered out of bounds when it comes to rest out of bounds or if it hits out of bounds. At my local course yesterday on the par 3 11th the green butts the parking lot whick according to the local rules is out of bounds. Its a 110 yards so I chose amy AW and aimed left anticipating my usual slice. well I hit the good and straight into the lot well the ball landed in the lot and bounced back into bounds is this an Out of Bounds penelty?

It only matters where it finishes. If it finishes in bounds you are good to go, no penalty.

I say you got lucky - the rule appears to be in your favor:

"A ball is out of bounds when all of it lies out of bounds. A player may stand out of bounds to play a ball lying within bounds."

No mention about deflecting back in play, so where it lies seems to be all that matters in your instance IMHO.

Only matters how it lies, not how it got there.

At my home course there is a guy who's house is OB. Every weekend his german shepard sits in the back yard and if your ball goes OB he will pick it up and hold it in his mouth. If you have some crackers he will walk "in bounds" and drop your ball for the food. If you dont have any food he will not come in bounds and just lay in his yard. If seen guys give him old water balls to try and get their brand new Pro V's back and that dog just collects em all. He even had 6 balls in his mouth at the same time. I wouldnt mind being that dogs owner.
