Good late morning everyone,

I started trying out golf last year by going to a local par 3 course.I had a blast and shot pretty good considering i had only been to the driving range before that.I try and play when i can which isnt enough..lol..but when i do i play ehh.Would love to go to a pro but  just dont have time between Work, life ect.

My short game is actually pretty solid,my problem area's are my driving and putting consistantly.Next time i head out ill have to make sure i take either some video or photo's.

My clubs are some of the cheapest around.I didnt want to buy a starter set then not like the game..lol..So within time ill slowly upgrade when i can.

Welcome.  Just remember to have fun and keep working on the short game.  It will save the most strokes.

i try and balance my practice out between my local driving range and with the par 3 course so i can practice both short and drives.Being from Boston you have probably heard of The Back Nine in Lakeville. Its a nice par 3 course

I live north of the city.  I usually go to Rolling Green in Andover for a par 3 round.  Par 3s are a great way to work on the short game.  Try just bring 4 clubs like 5 iron, 9 iron, wedge and putter.  you really learn how to be creative.

Hi, I'm form Massachusetts also. Hopkinton, to be exact. If you want a good par 3, it's a bit of a drive for you (and even for me), but the best one that I have found is the par 3 course at Cyprian Keyes. Maybe if you are ever up that way you should try it out. I've also heard good things about the par 3 course at Fore Kicks, the indoor soccer dome in Norfolk. That still a little bit of a drive for you, but from what I hear, they keep the place in great shape, especially for a par 3 course.

In my bag:

Driver: Titleist TSi3 | 15º 3-Wood: Ping G410 | 17º 2-Hybrid: Ping G410 | 19º 3-Iron: TaylorMade GAPR Lo |4-PW Irons: Nike VR Pro Combo | 54º SW, 60º LW: Titleist Vokey SM8 | Putter: Odyssey Toulon Las Vegas H7

hello, I am a new golfer from Massachusetts (Newburyport)  I am going to Driving ranges in the area (Groveland Fairways, and Garrison's mostly)  Garrison's in Haverhill also has a par 3 course.  I'll probably play that course first before I move on to bigger courses.  There is also a cheap course in Newburyport (Evergreen it is $10 dollars for 9 holes, cash only)  if you are looking for more courses in the state.
