I thought it might be fun to start a collection of "Foleyisms", the often bizarre and frequently non-understandable quotes and sayings from Sean Foley.   Each time I hear him speak it seems he comes up with some gem that doesn't make much sense, like "Rotation is rotational".    One of my favorite article titles about Foley was " Sean Foley:  Canada's Top Swing Doctor or Pretentious Wanker? "   in a blog by Robert Thompson, posted back in 2007.    So far I think the jury is still out on this question!

Post your favorite Foleyisms here.   Maybe if we get enough gems we can band together and publish a coffee table book of his sayings!

"Now what we do understand is there is a resonance, which is kind of the music that goes along with the physics and the angles and the velocity"

“Stack and Tilt is one method of swinging. If it’s such a great system, then why are people coming for a ‘watered-down version’ from me?”

I like his interview in Score golf where he implored amateurs to practice more wedge shots since we "use it at least 36 times a round". 36? Really? I can't remember the last time I used a wedge more than a 12-15 times in a round and that includes full PW approach shots from the fairway.

You actually have to get heavier here to get lighter and jump up. So the jump up just is a function of you get it to there, you load, all those forces that are going down into the ground are gonna go back up into you. Yeah.

There's a writeup on him in the NYTimes today.

BTW, the article described SnT as a right handed golfer who keeps his head over the left side even as he turns away from the ball. Does that sound right? My head is centered.

Yes. Stack and Tilt does not work on left handed people....or females.

They're not saying it works just for righties... they're just defining it so they don't have to say "head over his target-ward side" or something goofy.

And no, that's not the right definition. Head is centered, as we know here.
