Start short and end long. Hit 100 60* wedges and you will be ball striking bettter in no time.

I'm sure the drill works for some, but there is no guarantee it will fix anything. The only way I can guarantee I don't hit the ground behind the ball is by laying a towel right behind the ball, or even put the ball on the towel. I can put some object an inch behind the ball and still hit the ground first. It's not difficult, just a matter of timing.

Another thing to watch is the upper center, which you must not let drift forward. It is an easy mistake to make when trying to get the hands more in front of the ball (personal experience).

thanks for all the replies. will try some of the mentioned drills. yesterdays round was better ball striking. moved the ball towards a little more towards the middle of my stance and started striking it much better.


A drill i like, is to mimic the impact position, weight on front foot, right foot slightly angled in, then just take he club back so the club is parallel to the ground, and swing through to the same distance in the finish. So its hitting quarter shots, with your body at the impact position. This will drill the impact zone.
