I just picked these up last night.

I only hit them in the testing area, and I loved them.  Can't wait to get them out on the course.  Does anybody else use these?  If so, what do you think?

What's in my standbag:

Driver: Burner Superfast 9.5

Hybrids: Raylor

Irons:: JPX 800 4-GW

Wedges: SV Wedges 56/58/60

Putter: Monza Spyder

I just bought them as well! Before I bought the JPX's I was playing with a set up of Mizuno T-Zoid pro IIs and they were unforgiving to say the least. In the few rounds that I have played with them I have noticed a much higher/arced trajectory and improved distances. My only concern with them is that Mizuno got wrapped up with the new generation of "distance irons" in which the JPX irons are lofted a full club length more than what they used to be. (ie my JPX 7 iron has the same loft as my Pro IIs 6 iron)

Congrats, they are great clubs.  I really liked them when I was out shopping for new clubs.  It was between them and the Diablo Edges and I went with the Callaways because I hit them more consistently at the time.  Now that I've sorted out a lot of swing issues and I'm striking the ball much better I'm having some buyers remorse with not going with the JPX800's.

Congrats on the clubs... quick question on them.. I'm demo'ing the 6 iron this weekend and when I took them to the range and hit them it sounded like I dropped a rock on a sidewalk. Do you get any sort of.. "unique" sound from these?

anotherday - Now that you mentioned it, I have noticed that the irons make more of a 'thud' versus a 'click' sound that my Pro IIs made (when I hit them clean). I'm not 100% sure as to why the sound would be that much different other than the fact that the Pro IIs were forged and the JPX's are cast.

I tried the JPX 800 Pro's and they didn't have any noticeable sound.. but it is possible that I was desensitized by the sound of the 800's.. haha. I'm thinking that this demo club has just seen better days and that the sound isn't really part of the design.. I hope so. Despite the sound though, the 800's flew quite nicely.

+1 for Club

-1 for sound that makes you want to slap yo mama!

I recently purchased the JPX 800 Pros, after a lengthy range test of every mid level handicap club imaginable. The JPX800 Pros have no noticeable sound, other than the sound a little shameless pride expelled might make. Love the clubs, went out for the first time to the club here yesterday and hit my 7 iron repeatedly for about an hour without any remorse about how much I paid for the irons. I haven't played the game for 10 years, gave up on it after it became a sport not a labour of love (started playing when I was 6) and these irons reinvigorated the passion I had for the game as a kid. I digress, the sound is quite solid, not quite a thud when hit in the middle - can't speak for the 800s as I hit them once and found the ball was going way too far and ballooning and with little feedback as to whether I was hitting a crap shot or not. However I did hit the ball consistently with them, unlike the clubs I tried from Mizunos rivals which I would hit my 7 iron 200m with and have no real sense of the shot I played - only a sudden realization that kid me would have bought the long hitting irons and adult-ish me now wants a little more control.

I took the JPX 800 Pros out to the course yesterday. I used it on probably 3 shots because I was rotating some other clubs I was demo'ing. My first shot was just amazing... I've never felt a sweet spot be hit like that. The feel of the hit was something so surprising to me that I thought I had to have hit it wrong or something - the "if it seems too good to be true, it probably is" thinking.. I looked at the club and there was the ball mark, dead center.

In the shots I used it for this thing was a monster. Not too much extra yardage which I like. The only extra yardage you might have to tack on is the extra distance you'd get from hitting a pure shot. And then you just need to start planning for hitting a lot of pure shots. These are sweet.

Love mine. I went from the MX25s, which were great, but these give me the extra distance I was looking for (I'm 60) with the same trajectory and workability as the 25s. The sole grind on these is also an improvement. Can't say anything negative about them. They're definitely keepers and I'm as fickle as they come.

    • I generally like par-3 courses and find it a darn shame that the last of them closed in my area during the pandemic. Part of it may have to do with the fact that I never have been very good with the longer clubs, so the short holes are a bit more my speed.  Being able to get in 18 holes in two hours was pretty convenient and, ironically, the lack of crowds made them peaceful places to be. Naturally, that's the same reason they no longer exist around here.  The second option sounds like a whole lot of no fun.
