Celis is still available. A brewery in Michigan bought the rights to all Celis' properties, and you can find them all over the Midwest. I know that because I make sure to pick up some Celis White when I'm visiting family in Illinois.

I tend to prefer India Pale Ales.  It's difficult to go wrong with Stone IPA and Ruination.  They seem to have the perfect balance between hoppy/bitter flavor and smoothness.  Not to mention the aroma is to die for.  Other greats include Victory Hop Devil, Sierra Nevada Torpedo, New Holland Mad Hatter, and many more.

Good to know, my wife's family is from Michigan, next time I'm up there, I'll have to pick some up.

I prefer Wisconsin craft beers such as Point, Leinie's and New Glarus.  My fav would have to be New Glarus Spotted Cow.  Its pretty much the perfect beer.

Guinness on tap in any bar or pub that sells enough of it to keep the lines fresh. Close runner ups are McAusland St.Ambroise Pale Ale (quite bitter) and McAusland Cream Ale.

Also really enjoy Sierra Nevada whenever I'm in the states.

Brooklyn Sorachi Ace, a special belgian style ale. It is champagne like, tart, with enough malt to be smooth and drinkable. I split a bottle with my buddy last week at room temperature, and it was superb.

I favor Samuel Smith's Oatmeal Stout and Nutbrown Ale, Sled Dog Tripel Bock, and Paulaner Bock for darker beers myself. And I can't forget Storm King Imperial Stout or Old Rasputin Imperial Stout.

For lighter and hoppier beers, 90 minute IPA by Dogfish Head, Harpoon IPA, Stone IPA of all kinds, but particularly the standard due to its perfect balance. Hop Devil is delicious, and Blue Point RastafaRye is my favorite. it is possibly one of the most perfect beers out there.

Also worth a try are Pork Slap pale ale, Blue Point Toasted Lager, and Rogue's Dead Guy and Double Dead Guy ale. I like to change it up, usually I get 2-3 kinds of beer at a time.

Currently, I have Magic Hat Circus Boy Hefewiezen in my fridge. Very sessionable, just enough character to assert itself.

Saw this group and thought I would join...I am a big homebrewer and therefore and even bigger beer nerd.  I like a lot of styles, but a hop-forward pale ale or a robust porter are two of my favorite styles.  Cheers!

    • Day 132: did some mirror work while watching TV. Worked on backswing stuff primarily.
    • 26 Nov 24 -  It was not a record breaking round by any means, but rather a simple walking of the back nine today playing TBWB (two ball-worse ball) where the challenge is to play the worse of the two shots played - could be an errant drive from the woods, a tree knocked ball that is 100 yds farther back down the fairway, a nGIR ball as opposed to a GIR….the goal today was to stay no worse than bogie thru nine.  Managed to achieve that goal - bogied 7 holes with one dbl and one par to counter the dbl.  It’s about staying focused and not letting a bad shot or lie derail, but rather be an opportunity.
    • Day 208 (26 Nov 24)- Opted to walk 9 today (was the back nine as they had a huge group going off the front) but instead of it being persimmons and blades, I had the regular gamers but made it a TBWB (two ball-worst ball) round.  This really challenges on several fronts - ball striking to be as consistent as possible, course management from non-optimal lies and keeping your head in it as it can be depressing to nail a shot on line-on target and the second rattles the trees right and it’s over 50 yards back and that’s the one you have to play.  The goal was to be no worse than bogie overall (+9).  Finished the round exactly on the number with some solid recoveries, no penalty strokes and only one 3-putt.
