Hale Irwin Leading 2011 Senior PGA

The guy is about a week away from turning 66!

He was unstoppable from age 50-60, but to be doing this at basically 66? Incredible! I plan to watch more of this than the Byron Nelson tomorrow, for sure!

Well screw me. I feel bad. I think I jinxed him. He finished at -9, doubling the last hole? A par five? Pffft. I'll go watch - I was just seeing the scores online when I posted, of course.

I'll be pulling for Hale tomorrow. I saw him on my honeymoon at the Senior PGA six years ago at Laurel Valley and he was, by far, the nicest of the guys out there.

I hope he wins too. He hasn't won in awhile and it would be nice to see him win one more. A big one at that.

Hale was the course designer of my primary course from last year (The New England Country Club), and those who still work at NECC from back then have stated that he was one of the most down-to-earth guys that you would ever want to meet.  I am rooting for him to pull through and win the Senior PGA Championship.
