I currently play AP2 and BV 52/08 + 58/08 ..... but in the sand I think it sometimes would be a plus to have a SW with more bounce, especially when the sand is a bit softer.

So I am thinking of adding an in between wedge, like the BV 54/11 and to have the 52/08 bended to a 50/06 or 51/07 ....... any thoughts ???

Just curious, how is the 58/08 off of tight lies and really hard ground?

Don't think it would be a problem.  I've got a 52/8 Vokey, no problem off tight lies.  Same goes for my 52/7, 54/10, 58/10, and 60/7 wedges.  8* isn't a lot of bounce for a wedge.

8* bounce is about as standard as the bounce in any set's PW, so it is quite universal for tight lies and hardpan ........ I have had a 60/04 but that can be very critical...... unless you are very precise !

Suggestion to to Gerald. Could you pick up a 58* with bounce of 12 or 14, and carry it on days when you're facing softer sand? From the fairway you could deloft the higher-bounce 58* degree to cut down on the bounce. Also, some companies make variable-bounce wedges. Reid Lockhart models: Eidolon models:
Eidolon has a V-sole design in which the sole has "roof grind" to it. You can increase or decrease bounce with your set-up.
Some people say the Cleveland DSG grinds are variable-bounce, but not all people agree with this. See this Golfwrx link for details: Around here, I met a player who has CG12 model 60.04 LW. He plays it mainly in spring and fall, when grass is scruffy. Sorry, but wedge site URLs keep disappearing when I post this!!

Gerald, I don't know what your distances are and gaps between clubs. What I've chosen for my final setup to go with 4 wedges, PW (47), Nike SV tour 52/10 bent to 51/9, BV 54/8 bent to 55/9 and BV 60/04. I chose this setup more than anything for full shots within 130 yds. I have not had a problem with the bounce of 9 degrees in fluffly sand.

    • Day 86 (26 Jul 25) - Down at the beach place, had kept the clubs with me after playing yesterday.  Spent time this afternoon checking them over and brushing grooves on the wedges and irons.  Spent a few minutes working thru the swing process…working in slo mo through backswing and proper weight shift.
    • . I've been Playing Golf for: 10 years, 1 year consistently  My current handicap index or average score is: 100 My typical ball flight is: fade The shot I hate or the "miss" I'm trying to reduce/eliminate is: inconsistent ball strike   I caught the bug about a year ago and have been playing roughly once a week. Have been getting better with my short game and putting but my ball striking from tee and fairway lets me down. Had my first lesson last month which identified an over the top swing compensated by an open club face. Have been trying everything to get on plane over the last month. Have found that using a bend and press into my left leg as the trigger for my downswing coupled with finding the turn and rotation in both my arms to release the club properly has helped my get nearer to the correct plane. Video below is where I am with it currently. Haven’t taken this new swing to the course yet! Any comments or suggestions are welcome  Videos:  I've been Playing Golf for: 1 year properly  My current handicap index or average score is: 100 av score
    • That's always been the deal. You put in the work hyper focused on ONE or at most two things, so that you don't have to think about anything except a single feel or the target or something on the course.
    • Blind squirrel finds a nut and putted well. no, I decided to play a round being athletic rather than paralyzing myself with swing thoughts. I have no clue if I was doing what I worked on. It was the last day and I was tired of freezing at the top of the swing not know if one of four outcomes were going to happen.
    • Day 299 - 2025-07-26 I spent 15 minutes practicing but it was almost pointless. It wasn't good practice. I was not really in it, but I put the time in. Oh, I did some chipping work before-hand, and that was good. I could have just left after that. 🙂
