Im sure some of you guys have seen this new revolutionary big grip that some tour players are using now like KJ Choi. The top putter in the world uses a SuperStroke grip and KJ was up there in putting at the players.  Im having a problem making putts 10 feet and in. I want to try a bigger grip and start making those important putts. I just shot 77 today at my first tournament of the year and placed 2nd. I LIPPED OUT! four birdie putts from the 7-10 range which could have gave me the win and a lot more self confidence.

So heres my burning question... Slim or Fatso?

Have you tried either of them, or both?

Wouldn't you rather try them and make your own decision on what you putted best with, rather than go off of internet opinions on what "we like best"?

^^^ Agree.  Also, give the Tiger Shark a test drive.  I tried several and ended up with the jumbo Tiger Shark on mine.  It's a completely different putter now.

I played all of 2010 with the Fatso...liked it but made lag putting nearly impossible for me. Always 5' long or short. This year I switched to the UltraSlim. Great grip. My 10' and in putting has not changed but my lag putting hag improved greatly.

Same problem with the lag putting. Still use the fatso though. I have figured out the I just need to stick it closer and problem solved. Lol. Aside from the lag putting, I have never putt so well..... Love the grip, if you get it also get the sleeve for it getting it in and out of the bag is a royal pain in the ass

    • _sigh_ so close to red text.  Went away for three days, but didn't do a practice morning-of-departure (Friday) nor evening-of-return (Sunday), so I had three misses, back to day one. Day 1, May 4 2026.  At home today, spent nearly an hour in my practice room, hitting about three dozen practice balls, primarily with my 6-iron.
    • Day 254 5-4 Arms off chest in backswing and downswing. Short swing, pause and then hit.  Hit foam balls. Keeping arching of wrist a focus as well.
    • I would think of it in terms of time. The time it takes to get the arm angle into a good position to deliver the club with proper shaft lean. Another component is rotation, but that is also a matter of timing. It relates to how the body stalls to give the golfer time to hit the ball. If you have to get 80+ degrees out of that right elbow in one third of a second versus 50 degrees in the same time then you have to steal time from somewhere. It is usually body rotation. That does not help with shaft lean.  I agree in that amateurs tend to make the swing more complicated than pro golfers.
    • I haven't been able to practice like I wanted and won't for the next week.  1. The weather sucks in Ohio this year. I have been mostly inside hitting foam balls. Just kind of my basic stuff.  2. I woke up last Saturday with a left side rib muscle on fire. If I turned or leaned a certain way it would spasm that almost buckled my knees. I have been taking a break to let that settle. I don't want to get a long term injury. I think I pinched a nerve or just aggravated a muscles.   3. I am going on a mini-vacation to Florida (screw you Ohio weather) with a friend, and rolling that into a work conference I have next week. I will be with out my clubs for a week.  I will be back next in two Fridays to hit the ground running with some warmer temps and better weather in Ohio, hopefully. I would really like to get more out on the course and the range.
    • Day 580 - 2026-05-04 Played eight holes. Sometimes golf kicks you in the nuts. 😉
