Upgrading to ProV1...?

Can someone help answer this question please? A tour pro will throw away their golf ball every 1-2 holes as it's deemed 'unplayable', so for me - an amateur - will a ProV1 still retain the quality after 36 holes? I wouldn't want to spend that much on a golf ball that won't perform for very long. Cheers!

yes, Pro V's will be fine for 36 holes.  The only thing you have to watch for is chewing up the cover with a wedge and stuff like that.

I've played the same Pro V1 for 50 holes, although I am not exactly going to say that I was sad when it finally went swimming.

If you are a 25 handicap, you probably aren't spinning the ball back from the fairways, so if you keep if out of the trees (and water, and OB), and avoid the cart paths, you probably shouldn't have a problem.

I don't know exactly where, but I read that chewing up the cover a bit doesn't really affect the performance of the ball. In fact I played a 2 day tournament where I used the same Pro V1x and chewed that thing up and saw no decreased spin or distance.

Pros do it because they can, they get as many free balls as they want. If I had endless supplies of balls I would throw it out if it had even a minor blemish from a shot
