Allow me to extol the virtues of coconut water…

http://vitacoco.com/

It’s all natural – it’s coconut water and vitamin c, and that’s it.

It tastes good – it has a mild sweetness to it without being too syrupy.

A little bit goes a long way – you can sip it straight from the carton, or mix it with the water in your water bottle. (I mix 12oz in with a gallon of water and sip the remainder from the carton as needed.)

It comes in a number of flavors – I prefer the straight-up coconut water.

And finally, for my Hasidic friends – it’s kosher

Although coconut water is not necessarily a “sports” drink, I find that it works both to hydrate the body and replenish electrolytes far better than any of the other products touted as sports drinks.

So, instead of downing one of those ubiquitous sugary sports drinks, give this stuff a try next time you’re heading to the course.

My buddy swears by the stuff too. Lots of vitamins, particularly potasium. He was saying drinking an 8oz bottle is the equivalent to eating around four bananas. I have yet to try it, but will soon.

i bought the vita coco last week to try. It may be good for you but it tastes like crap. Almost has a sour taste to it, I found myself holding my nose to drink it after awhile

Yeah, I'd imagine its a bit on an acquired taste. I'm willing to give it a shot. I'll probably end up diluting it with water if it too nasty

I like the taste. Sweet but not sticky sweet.

I’ll admit, it’s not a taste amenable to everyone’s palate.

My fiancé is a RN, and she’s the one who turned me on to it as a way to maintain hydration and electrolyte balance. The doctors for whom she works recommend coconut water instead of Pedialyte® for patients - as a non-invasive method to remedy the onset of said imbalances. She’s not a big fan of the taste either. In her words, “I’d rather drink from a patient's colostomy bag than sip that skanky coconut water.”

I think this brand is good also: http://zico.com/

I went shopping last night and went down the isle where I buy my protein mix and was amazed by the amount of shelf space allotted to coconut water. Thought about giving it a whirl but at 18g of carbs, i couldn't do it.

I've noticed it on shelves more and more since this thread started too. I saw coconut juice actually, don't know if that's the same as coconut water, but looking at the nutritional facts I saw that a can has 40g of sugar! That's coconuts! I would imagine that its probably natural sugar as opposed to the 32g or so of fructose in a can of soda?

    • Day 79 (19 July 25) - Band rehearsal this morning - got home midafternoon, opted to work more with the magnetic alignment tool with the wedges.  Used it to work on face position at the bottom of the swing arc - followed up with easy pitches up to 50yds.  Seeing better face control and over improved accuracy toward target…session was cut short with pop up rain showers.
    • This is a great discussion. Other parts of the course where there are houses have white stakes and signs. This keeps people from trespassing and hitting shots on their property. There is another county road on the east side of the course that does not have white stakes like the hole I described. I checked the score card and there is nothing to indicate these roadways are OB. I think a county drainage ditch would be considered government right-of-way so it is the peoples land 🤣. But you are in the power industry and know more about those sorts of things than me.
    • Day 3: Worked on backswing. Feel: Matt Wolff, Real: Not yanking it inside and getting it laid off and flat at the top.
    • I wrote the post before leaders tee'd off today (3rd round) when Schef was still tied with Fitz at -10. Also, if you read further I also said 'one man' will most probably put the championship to sleep by end of today..😊. Yeah, not much drama left it seems. Scheffler with a hot putter is out right frustrating for the field. I will still watch tomorrow because the course is awesome and the play is pretty exciting in general. Players reaching deep to hang on.
