He could probable be the starting free safety for half the teams in the NFL with open field tackles like that!

You just have to wonder if the guy he tackled will start to develop "back" problems that will keep him from working in the future. I wonder if Nike had to come up with some hazard pay to make sure he would be OK.

Great tackle though. Tiger is a true athlete and you can see it on and off the course. It will be interesting to see if some of America's great young athletes will start to look to golf for their futures instead of football or basketball.

I had the chance to spend some time with Gary Player and one thing he said was that he is waiting for the day a big strong, young guy makes golf his profession. I offered myself at 6'8" and 240 as his protoge. Unfortunately the fact that I was 34 at the time didn't seem to excite him all that much. And to think, he made that descision without ever seeing my swing. Good thing or he could have pulled somthing laughing at me.

Hi

i'm surpised that Tiger did the 'stunt' at all..i know he probably fools about when nobody is watching but to tackle someone in a publicity stunt and risk injury i think is misguided..he could have hurt his wrist!!!

Hi

By all accounts it was not planned. He told the actor before the take he was going to try and grab him. He said that he just got into it and tackled him instead.

way to go Tiger..he sounds like a fun guy to be around..does TW know about the compensation culture that we have!!??....oopps

Isn't it sad that that was the first thing I thought of too. I would have to guess that they threw the guy a little somthing extra for the shoot and his troubles.

What would that guy do with those clubs anyway, other than sell them. He's probably a 20 handicap and couldn't even hit them without slicing them.

First time I saw it was on the golf channel and they said the tackle was not planned, he nailed it on the first try. good thing the camera person kept the tape rolling, just like when he was bouncing the ball on his club face then hit the ball off a bounce. Guess that's why they never take the cameras off tiger.

Stunt double . . . guy being tackled was a stunt man too.
No way Tiger is going to risk injury like that.
If he really did it, it's foolish, he could have gotten a stunt double.

One of the funniest commercials I've seen in months! I love it, it shows that he does have a lighter side than his usual, professional perfect self!

Stunt double . . . guy being tackled was a stunt man too.

Hate to break it to you, but he did it himself.

And I'm sure Tiger does plenty of things far more dangerous than tackling people. C'mon, this wasn't a head-on collision, it was chasing a guy down and using him as a cushion.

We're talking about a guy who bungee jumped from 440 feet, then raced a stock car the same weekend in New Zealand! You think he's scared to run a guy down and tackle him?!

I love the spot, pretty funny stuff.

I'm always impressed by Tiger BUT the dude was CARRYING A GOLF BAG! I'm pretty sure Craig Stadler could have caught that guy if he was carrying a staff bag full of clubs lol.... great video though

    • @DeadMan, I think your approach makes sense. As @dennyjones said, consistency is the key.
    • Day 204 (22 Nov 24) - Weekly men’s group round today.  Temps in the upper 40’s, WNW winds 5-15mph - was the old man in the foursome (next youngest is my junior by 10yrs) - held my own against them.  Iron play getting more consistent -seeing predictable ball flights and distances. While the consistency coming around still had sone solid negatives as I had two dbls and one triple. On the plus side - eight pars and one birdie.
    • I don't think anyone will really care.   It's your call.  Just be consistent.
    • I agree, until we are watching the 18th hole in the dark or waiting for the champion to finish and it's been 5+ hours
    • Question for the group. The course I normally play at has 27 holes - 3 9s that they use to for 18 in the various combinations. Is it okay to declare* if I’m playing front or back when I play 9 on this course? I’m figuring I need to declare before I play a shot. *meaning just say to myself that this is the back 9. Curious what people think. Of course, my only holes left are 13 and 17, so I’m going to declare the back 9 for the rest of the year. Probably only one or two more rounds though.
