btw...your handi is only 2 less than his (play him heads up and i'd take him 3-1, as arrogance doesn't equal confidence in your case)...as for the ACTUAL topic...Rory's swing is beautiful to watch and regardless of what elements of what type of swing he's got in there...poetry in motion.

Giving average size people some hope! Maybe I too can get my hips to rotate at 720 deg/sec!

That can't be good for you body can it?

You can see the pressure being put on his lower back twisting so much. Good luck to him - but I doubt it will hold up for ever.

You should take a slow motion look at Ricky Fowlers swing... his back is not going to last.

Well, probably not, but this is about Rory, not Rickie

S&T; is effecient, and effeciency is not necessarely pretty. Its the difference between Engineers and Architects. Engineers are keep it simple stupid, and Architects like to smash that simplicity for asthetics. Both ways works and have there place.

For me personally. i have taken alot from S&T;, but i am less weight forward into the backswing than whats advocated, but i do stay centered pretty well.

With Rory, he stays centered well, his right leg straightens up a bit (does not become fully straight), he starts down with his hips, probably the best transition in the game of golf today. I don't think that recoil is what causes him issues, i believe its his slight reverse C, he keeps his head still so long that his hips go so forward that he puts strain on his lower back. Alot of golfers learn later on that they need to move there head forward after impact to take strain off the back.
