This week's Thrash Talk focuses on a few golfers that have been missing in action in the past year or so. They have showed up to play golf, but they haven't played it worth a darn. I don't want to give anything away, but I want to ask the same question here.

Which household names have really struggled to find their games in the past year or so?

That will get things started, but be sure to check out the full article tomorrow morning.

Hi

im concerned about David Duval-he's missed all of the Florida Swing so far but started the season well..is he injured?..he needs to get it together pretty soon or he'll fall too far behind!

John Daly..he's doing fairly well this season but needs a few more finishes.

I want to see Phil Mick do better this season..ive noticed a pattern with him..when Tiger is playing he doesn't play so well?

Davis Love is someone else who needs to play better and to his potential this season.

Darren Clarke has made a dreadful start to the season and needs to get some form and consistency together.

Maybe not a household name for some but whatever happened to Chris Riley?

Last I heard he was still recovering from that exhausting Ryder Cup.

Erik J. Barzeski —  I knock a ball. It goes in a gopher hole. 🏌🏼‍♂️

How about Ryan Moore and Justin lenorad? Lenorad had a great start this past weekend but he seems to be in a different state the last two or so years.

Ryan Moore had the wrist thing last year but don't really hear much about him any more.

Ryan Moore finished in the top 10 at Bay Hill I believe. I can't believe if that was the tournament or not, but it was somewhere on the Florida Swing. Other than that, however, he has been pretty quiet since late last summer.

Moore has way too much talent to be underachieving right now. Hopefully he will start to pick it up a little.

Justin Leonard started off well last week, but he faltered on the weekend. At least he made a cut and finished in the top 40 though. That's a positive sign if nothing else.

I agree...he is a local guy for me and graduated from UNLV, so I was watching his career closely then all of a sudden he had the wrist thing LY and then fell off the radar.

I hope he gets things going again.

    • @DeadMan, I think your approach makes sense. As @dennyjones said, consistency is the key.
    • Day 204 (22 Nov 24) - Weekly men’s group round today.  Temps in the upper 40’s, WNW winds 5-15mph - was the old man in the foursome (next youngest is my junior by 10yrs) - held my own against them.  Iron play getting more consistent -seeing predictable ball flights and distances. While the consistency coming around still had sone solid negatives as I had two dbls and one triple. On the plus side - eight pars and one birdie.
    • I don't think anyone will really care.   It's your call.  Just be consistent.
    • I agree, until we are watching the 18th hole in the dark or waiting for the champion to finish and it's been 5+ hours
    • Question for the group. The course I normally play at has 27 holes - 3 9s that they use to for 18 in the various combinations. Is it okay to declare* if I’m playing front or back when I play 9 on this course? I’m figuring I need to declare before I play a shot. *meaning just say to myself that this is the back 9. Curious what people think. Of course, my only holes left are 13 and 17, so I’m going to declare the back 9 for the rest of the year. Probably only one or two more rounds though.
