Tied my personal best of an 80 today, hit 13 fairways, 12 GIRS but 3 putted 5 times. I guess the most frustrating hole was a 530 yard par 5. Hit a 260 yard drive, 250 yard 3 wood to leave myself 3 yards short of the green and about 50ft uphll to the pin. Hit the chip to light leaving me a 25ft birdie putt. Hit that one to light leaving myself 6ft for par and lipped that one out for a bogey. It took me 2 shots to go 510 yards and 4 to go the last 20. I'm very happy about my 80 but I could have easily had a 76-77. On the plus side my usual misses are a push or a chunk but I hit my irons better than ever. It seemed I couldn't miss a green inside 200 yards. A great confidence building round. There is always tomorrow!

That is an unusual round.  I've never had a good round without putting great but have had several when the ball striking was off some.  But congratulations.

I feel your pain! Two weekends ago I played and shot 81 with 4 3 puts, and a dreaded 4 putt and only one 1 putt . Was one of the best ball striking days I've had this year by far. It was so windy that day. Go figure I hit it through the air just fine but could not judge it all day on the greens. It was like the British open, 40 mph gusts all day.
