ok my shots weather it be with a driver long irons even short irons sometimes bend like no ones's business i mean the feeling of the club head striking the ball feels very very nice great sound and feel but almost instantly they fade hard hard right!!!

when i do hit it true they fly yesterday first drive went about 260yds strait but there after everything i hit went right only time i didnt mind was a dog leg right par4 bang middle of the FW

i have tried aiming far left to compensate the slice i think you would call it but it either goes dead strait >_
any tips snippets of info you guys could share with me?

yesterday was my first rd of golf in 5yrs went round in 123 at ellesmere port golf club

thanks for reading guys

heres teh video of my swing

Haha you're swinging way too hard with your driver.  your stance is closed towards the end(why'd you do that?)  and youre coming OTT

I agree that you are swinging too hard, and you are coming OTT (over the top).

Your club path on the back swing is severely inside, which then leads to you coming down very steep and outside-in. That is the primary cause of the slice. it isn't an uncommon problem (probably the most common major flaw actually). It can be difficult to correct, however. This is because many things can lead to that particular swing path. Without a head on shot it's hard to diagnose all issues, but I would start by evaluating your grip, stance, setup, etc. That will go a good way, and then work on your takeaway next. If you can get your body and arms working together and starting the club on a proper path first, that should go a long way to alleviating your slice.

If you are truly invested in correcting this issue, I can tell you it will be worth it but it will take some work. Making changes that drastic to your swing is not easy and will not happen overnight.

As a side note, it looks as though you would benefit from some fitted clubs as well. The iron especially looks too short for you.

As Erik says all the time, don't post practice swings.  A practice swing is never ever the same as your real swing, no matter how much you think it is.  You won't get great feedback with a 3 minute video of practice swings.  Go to the range and take video there, or put up a net in the back yard so you can hit a ball.

This.

Plus, I merged this into your other thread. Please don't start new threads for "My Swing" type things.

new swing video of my driver and 4 iron normal and slow please post thoughts and suggestions please guys

Need a better camera.. anyways, what are your misses like ?  Looks like pulls and slices.. you still come over the top. also with driver i would try to keep that left foot planted instead of lifting it up.. (i'm sure some people have success with it but it looks inconsistent at best) have you tried getting a lesson?  A pro could probably help you a lot more

will standing closer to the ball help in not coming in over the top as i will have to keep my arms and hands in tighter to hit hit the ball?

Have you been working on not lifting your left heel on the backswing?  Seems like that has changed since the older video as well as the shoulders turning steeper which I like.  I'd recommend practicing with tees or gloves under you arms so they can work with your pivot rather than lift off your torso.  We are swing on an arc and should achieve to keep those hands traveling on a arc for as long as we can

yes left heel is now planted, still working on shortening the backswing slightly and keeping the hands from turning over to soon resulting in me pulling shots, also need to keep my head still more because i hit a fair few very fat

any other opinions?

I think you just need miore practice in slow motion so your not losing balance. Your swing looks good. I'm obviously biased, but the glove under the armpit thing never worked for me. It always felt restrictive to me - only made a few swings like that though, and that was probably 20 years ago. Still, for me, weaksauce.

    • It’s winter here and time hitting at my indoor place.  This year I bought and sold a few sets so I didn’t settle in on anything. For this coming season, starting now I have a choice to make.  What set would you guys use? 1.  Nike Vapor Pro irons - They are like new, hit them some last year before I had to demo other sets.  I love them, original grips, barely used so I’m almost not wanting to use them to keep their value up.  Standard LLL and standard grips. 2. Taylormade P7TW irons - Still in the box.  Got them over a year ago but had too much to hit, never used them.  Have used a set in the past and loved them.  Ended up with my own set custom fit to me -1/4”, 1 degree flat midsize grips.  These are probably not as valuable because they are still available and they are fit to me. I hate to put the Nikes away but it makes more sense to save them than the TW’s…. I dunno….
    • Day 215 (3 Dec 24) - Another very chilly day - opted to work on easy pitches in the backyard. Worked thru the irons and wedges - focused on foot position and tempo.
