I became a lucky owner of about 24 of their golf balls when a "friend" (I got to get him back someday) cleaned out his golf room.  They are "ok".  I play "soft" in general and mostly :bridgestone:e6. My response overall is "meh", not totally bad but, for me and my strokes I would not buy them.  (I also don't play one of the :callaway: softs for the same reason.)

As one who has heard many such pitches, I have taken on a few approaches.  With some companies, I go to the fact that I speak very fluent German and I can go into a hard to understand dialect of that language as well.  Or, if I am in a pissant mood, I will talk to them as if I am a lawyer going over every point in their ad.  Keep them on line in both cases as it ties up their sales figures. Usually they hang up on me!

A lot one can do if they are retired and have time.

I'm forwarding all my solicitor calls to you. TIA!!

All of the threads on Warrior Golf are pretty old, but the internet is replete with horror stories about these scumbags. Their clubs are garbage, and they've recently filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy, which was accelerated by a Florida court ruling that they bilked an elderly man out of over $1 million over the past decade.

Unfortunately, I'm a member at a club in California owned by Warrior for the past five years. They subsequently took a classic Ted Robinson design and ran it into the ground. The good news is that the roughly 3,000 homeowners in our gated community voted last August (by 78% to 22%) to authorize our HOA board to pursue the purchase of the golf course and restaurant. The sale was proceeding nicely until Warrior's bankruptcy filing, but recent developments again look promising. Hopefully we'll have our course and restaurant back in competent hands by August or so. Wish us lick! The best part is that the bankruptcy court has removed Warrior from any involvement in club operations, and they've designated a management company to oversee operations until this is resolved.

In the meantime, Warrior continues to try to lure unsuspecting golfers into ordering their "custom" clubs. CAVEAT EMPTOR!!!

Sorry to hear about your course.  I'm not surprised that Warrior ran it into the ground.  They seem to be run by people who were born on third base and think they just hit a double.

Notice how many one-post-only accounts there are singing the praises of Warrior.  Hmm...

I bought a 60* wedge from them once but have avoided them like the plague ever since. The sooner they go away the better.

They own 15 golf courses, each of whom are now in the hands of the bankruptcy judge. What would be funny if it weren't so pathetic is that the Warrior owner (Brendan Flaherty) and his flunkies all fancy themselves to be great foosball players. A visit to Warrior's and Flaherty's facebook pages bears that out. Maybe if they'd focused less on foosball and more on golf they wouldn't be in the predicament they're in.

I had a set of their 52,56,60 degree wedges for a while.  There was one thing that they were great for...these are the only clubs that i have ever snapped in frustration.  It was so liberating to be free of the Warriors. 😀

This is a follow-up to my 5/29 post. Well, at long last, we have survived the cancer that is Warrior Golf. Finally, the bankruptcy court has approved the sale of our community golf course to us...well, our HOA, to be specific. We've been subjected to Warrior's incompetence and antagonism for over 5 years, but it's all behind us now.

I urge anyone who's even thinking about buying any clubs or balls (or whatever) from them to not do it. Once you've bought anything at all from them you can count on being continually harassed by their "sales staff". The internet is full of consumer horror stories involving Warrior. They brag about their money back guarantee, but good luck trying to return anything to them. This is the golf company from hell!!!

OK, now I feel better. Seriously, though, these guys are bad news. Avoid them like the plague.

Good to hear you prevailed. I bought a 60* wedge from them once, which I still have but never use. Whenever I see an “offer” from them now I immediately delete it. Though I didn’t have a bad experience personally there have been too many horror stories about them. So I steer clear of them.

    • If you've only had to adjust retroactively one time in 8 years and have around 5 people each year without handicaps, that's like 40-50 people total so it sounds like you're doing a pretty good job. I think your questions give enough to go off of. This might be a good way to get new people to actually post a few scores during the 6 weeks leading into the first event. Something like "New members will be eligible for tournament money once they have at least 3 posted rounds in GHIN" or something like that. If they can get 3 rounds in prior to their first event, then they're eligible. If not, they'll soon become eligible after an event or two assuming they play a little bit outside of events.
    • This is a loooooong winded narrative so if you don't like long stories, move on. 😉 Our senior club typically gets about 25 new members each year. We lose about 25 members each year for various reasons (moved to FL/AZ, disabled, dead, too expensive). Of the new members, usually 20 have an active GHIN handicap. About 5 each year do not have a GHIN handicap. When they join our club, we give each member a state association membership that includes GHIN handicapping services. We play a series of handicapped tournaments over the summer. When we sign up a new member who does not have a GHIN handicap, we attempt to give them an estimated index until they have sufficient scores posted to have an actual GHIN index.  Our first event typically is around May 15 so, in theory, a new member has about 6 weeks to post a few scores. Posting season in the Mitten starts April 1. Inevitably, several of the unhandicapped individuals seem  to either not play until the first tournament or can't figure out how to enter scores (hey, they are seniors). That situation then leads to my contacting the new member and asking a series of questions: a. Did you ever have a GHIN handicap? If yes, which State and do you recall what it was? b. Do you have an alternate handicap through a non-GHIN handicap service or a league? c. What do you think your average score was last year (for 9 or 18) d. What was your best score last year? Where did you play and which tee was used? e. What do you consider a very good score for yourself? Based on their responses I attempt to give them an index that makes them competitive in the first couple events BUT does not allow them to win their flight in the first couple events. We don't want the new members to finish last and at the same time, we don't want someone with a "20" playing handicap to win the third flight with a net 57. In the event some new member did shoot a net 57, we also advise everyone that we can and will adjust handicaps retroactively when it is clear to us that a member's handicap does not accurately reflect their potential. We don't like to adjust things retroactively and in the 8 years I have chaired the Handicap Committee, we have only done it once. So here are the questions to the mob: Any ideas how to do this better? Any questions one might ask an unhandicapped individual to better estimate their index/handicap? Would it be reasonable to have a new player play once (or more?) without being eligible to place in the money?
