Yeah - I'm with Lefty on this one. Why would you want to do that? Golf clubs are going to be digging into turf, they're going to get dirty, and I think they look great after a cleaning with a brush and soapy water. Also, the wax may leave a residue on the face of the club which may could alter its playing characteristics. Has anyone ever heard about the trick involving putting vasoline (or chapstick) on the face of your driver? Apparently, you can hit it straight as an arrow like that.

Don't put it on the face, or it will change the playing characteristics. Applying a foreign substance to the clubface is prohibited by the Rules of Golf.

I don't know why you would want to put it on your clubs lol. but whatever...about the vasoline on the club face, IT WORKS haha. i tried it and it goes dead straight.

I tried to use Car Wax to clean up some ball mark on crown of my driver. Not the face of my driver.

Any good tips to clean up ball mark on my driver? As I missed hit a ball and leave some scratch or ball mark on side of my driver crown.

If it doesn't affect the play I don't worry about a scratch here and there. Anything that is designed to hit the ball (or the ground

) at over 100 mph is going to suffer some cosmetic damage over time.

Hey guys, interesting topic, I actually used some Meguiars NXT wax on my shaft and the top of my driver the other day lol. But not on the club face of course. I just did it to make it look more shiny if anything.

And with this vasoline trick on the club face, although i just read a couple posts up it's illegal to put a foreign substance on the club face, does it work with irons too? and how much do you have to put on? just wondering

With chapstick, do you apply like a thin coat on the face of the driver? Wow, I gotta try this method lol...By the way, did you mean vaseline (hand lotion)?
