Gearing up for the Masters.. What are your plans for the week. Unfortunately all my buddies think golf is Qoute un-qoute "more boring than watching paint dry." So I will be locking myself indoors with a couple cases of heineken, only leaving to get more beer and food.

I'll be watching. In the past they never showed the players playing amen corner, now that they let the camera's set up in the corner you get to see how the tournament can be won or lost.

You'll miss it if you're watching The Golf Channel. It's on USA.

Thursday and Friday coverage will be on in my office but will mostly be background noise as I am suppose to to be getting some work done on those days. However the weekend coverage will be watched live from my living room. The Masters is by far my favorite major to watch.

I dunno about Thurs - Sat, other than having the online coverage on in my office. On Sunday, I'm going to my folks' place and watching with friends on dad's HD 42" LCD TV.

Thursday : watching the line scores and posts on mikeweir.com.
Friday : watching on my New HD TV
Saturday : Easter at the in-laws, they live in the country and refuse to get satellite, will have to PVR and watch in the evening
Sunday : glued to the TV

The Masters is my far my most favourite. You "know" the course. Plus it is pretty much the start of golf season here, or so close you can smell it. The outdoor ranges open and you can go hit balls in the early afternoon, and then go home and settle in for four great hours of golf.

What's in my bag:
Driver : R7, 10.5 degree, stock stiff shaft

20 Degree Hybrid - Cobra Baffler, with Accra Shaft, Stiff
26 Degree Hybrid - Cobra Baffler, with Accra Shaft, Stiff6 - PW - Bridgestone CG Mid, Dynamic Gold LiteWedges : TBA...

We've got a network TV system in the office, so I'll be watching on USA during the day on Thursday and Friday. The weather outlook is pretty crappy for this weekend, so it looks like I'll be watching live (probably from home) Saturday and Sunday, instead of actually playing golf.

Odd combination, that. I've gotten my mom on the CH3 bandwagon, and we'll be rooting for him come Sunday, I hope.

Well, My favorite golfers are in this order:
1.)Bubba Watson
2.)Charles Howell III
3.)Adam Scott

lol...if Howell, or one of them is playing bad, I root for whoever has a chance to win out of the three.

I believe Watson isn't in the Masters, so Im kinda disappointed.

Well, My favorite golfers are in this order:

Bubba'll be in the Masters soon enough. The way he's playing this year, he might just be there in '08. I think he's already earned his TOUR card for '08 with over $900K. You can watch Tom Watson. But he isn't quite the same.

    • I believe the golf courses are leaving some opportunities on the table to educate and even insist that folks repair ball marks and fill in divots. They can and should put up signs strategically of what is expected. It may not cure the problem completely but it certainly would raise the level of awareness and improve on the status quo. Edit: I think the courses should straight up empty threaten folks that they would be asked to leave if found to be leaving ball marks unrepaired. Seriously.
    • Yeah, that's fair.  I'm not sure what the solution is.  I do remember "back in the day" when the ranger would remind you to fix your ball marks. I don't see that anymore either.  I guess my point is. I grew up in a time when fixing your ball mark was "cool". Because it meant you hit the green and made a ball mark. It's just not cool anymore.... which (in my opinion) is too bad.
    • To be fair, I don't watch golf YouTube videos to watch guys fix pitch marks, I watch to see the content/golf so it makes sense that stuff like that gets edited out. You don't see them replace/sand divots either but I'm sure they do. (At least the ones I watch that are very high level golfers. Bryan Bros, Grant Horvat, Peter Finch, etc)
    • I think the popularity of watching youtube golf shorts may also play into it. Very rarely, if ever, do you see a golf influencer fix their ball marks. Perhaps that's part of it.  I know it bugs me.  Like many others I always fix a few extra ones when I'm on the green.
    • A busy cocktail of apathy, indifference, lack of ownership.... and then throw in a dash of entitlement to top it off. Ya know, the usual ingredients.
