I took my driver into my local shop to have the shaft replaced.  Nothing particularly wrong with the stock shaft (G15) but I'm always tinkering around with the equipment.  I asked them to install a ProLaunch Axis Blue with a ShotMaker insert.  I go pick up the club yesterday and they installed a ProLaunch Blue instead.  One of the old model shafts.  I know that some people say that the specs of the two shafts are similar but from what I saw on the website, there are other new tech stuff built into the Axis shaft.

I am playing in a tournament on friday/saturday so I cant bring the driver back to the shop today.  Is there any noticable differences between these two shafts?  Is it wrong to try it out this weekend and have them put in the Axis shaft that I requested if this one doesnt feel right?  I dont want to go through the hassle of getting the Axis shaft installed if there really isnt any noticable difference between the two shafts.  The Axis one does look a whole lot better that this one though.

Any suggestions?

I think you should take it back immediatly just to point out the error, tell them you have a tournament and see what their response is before you do anything.

    • We had a member of our senior club who developed a mental block on pulling the trigger. I played with him to see what the membership was talking about. I timed him a few times when he would get over the ball. 45 seconds. He knew he had a mental block and would chide himself, “Just hit it!” Once on the green he was okay and chipping was a bit better. It was painful to watch him struggle. Our “bandaid” was to put him in the last tournament  tee time with two understanding players. We should have suggested to him to take a break from our tournaments. I agree with the idea that when a player realizes they have a problem, the answer is to go fix it and not return until they are able to play at an acceptable pace.
