Anyone have a recommendation for a nice track somewhere between Tampa, Florida and Naples, Florida. Thank you in advance.

Corkscrew in Naples...I have been trying to play it ever since I saw it online.  The only problem is that I live 2.5 hours away!  Looks awesome.

Cobra LTDx 10.5* | Big Tour 15.5* | Rad Tour 18.5* | Titleist U500 4-23* | T100 5-P | Vokey SM7 50/8* F, 54/10* S, SM8 58/10* S | Odyssey 2 Ball Blade | Vice Pro Plus

If wanna play Old Corkscrew[which is fabulous] go to EZ Links...you can book it with their specific teetime up to 12 days in advance at $75 vs $125 normal.....Gateway is a nice  private track I played in January.  Call the club and ask the pro for the # of the guy who sets up golfers there last minute. I can't find the guys #....It had been standby golf but their FL listing is not viewable....Closer to Tampa the Fox Hollow course is nice. But again check EZ Links....great list of courses with great discounts....I use the name your price feature...My guess is Old Corkscrew could be had for $70.  Good Luck.

A buddy of mine played Old Corkscrew and said it was the hardest course he's ever played. He's a good player too.

In my bag:

Driver: SQ 9.5, Graphite Stiff Shaft
3 Wood: Diablo 13 degree, Stiff Shaft
2 Hybrid: SQ 18 degree, Steel Stiff ShaftIrons: MP-30, 3-PWSW: 56* Vokey Copper spin-milledFW 52* VokeyFlat Stick Zing 2Ball: Pro V1x

Look up the World Woods facility north of tampa in brooksville, ive heard you can get some solid deals there as well.

World Woods is a great course, but if I'm reading the OP's post correctly, I'm guessing they are looking for something on the way to Naples heading from Tampa?  Also, be aware that World Woods' (along with most courses probably) rates go up starting the 1st of January.   If not there's lots of great courses between an hour and an hour and a half from Tampa (Orange County National near Orlando for one).  If you are looking for something on your way to Naples, check out Waterlefe Golf and River Club in Bradenton.  Rates are reasonable in the off season, but I think they are jumping 1/1 as well.  Beautiful course.

I'm afraid that's about the extent of my knowledge of the courses between here and there.  If money's no object, you might look into Tiburon in Naples.  Never played, but seems to always be on the "best public courses" list that GolfWeek puts out for Florida.

Tiburon is the host course for the Shark Shoot-Out. Nice digs there at the Ritz Carlton.

Have to agree that Corkscrew is the best "accessible" course in SW Florida. I played it last year and although I scored horrendous, it was May time and really humid it was a pure beauty, the practice ground alone is worth visiting. If you are going to play the longer tees i'd take more long clubs than wedges :) I always seemed to be two club lengths out!

The carts are really good too, we don't see things like that in the UK, I wouldn't mind knowing the manufacture if anyone else knows?

They play the Shark Shoot-Out on the Gold course, and the Black (to me) is MUCH tougher.  Both are extremely nice.

I have to agree with everyone here about Old Corkscrew.  Played it several times and it's superb.  Better have a good short game if you want to score well, because the greens are brutal (for play-not condition).

Another course down there to play is TPC Treviso Bay.  I played it many times when it was private, but I heard it's now public.  Not sure on cost.  So many great courses in the Naples area.

WHAT'S IN MY BAG

Driver: TaylorMade RBZ 9.5 degree; 3-Wood: TaylorMade RBZ 15 degree; Hybrids: TaylorMade RBZ 19 degree; Irons: Titleist AP1; Wedges: Titleist Vokey Spin Milled 54/60; Putter: Scotty Cameron Studio Select Fastback; Ball: Callaway Hex Chrome+  Grips:  PURE Pro

    • Day 319 - More mirror work, same focus on finishing higher and more towards the target.
    • Day 135: worked on putting bead for a while with the 2 cups drill.
    • Day 211 (29 Nov 24) - Friday men’s round albeit a solo foursome (temps in the 40’s, day after Thanksgiving and the average age closer to 75 - I’m a youngster at 65).  Interesting day of semi-solid play (8 of 18 GIR). Hit all four par threes in one (a first) - parred each; still had a couple 3 putt bogies; and blew up on 3 of the par 5’s (go figure)). The blow ups were some serious tree rattlers - amplifying how I got stupid and greedy instead of smart and content to just get back in the short stuff.
    • Day 60 - 2024-11-29 Got about 3.5' of snow today, so I was going to go to Golf Evolution, but… I only left the house to throw some snow. Instead, i checked out my putting stroke on HackMotion in the basement. Turns out… it's pretty good, and I'm very in touch with what I'm doing.
    • First time playing this game, Spanish is my native language. It was impossible for me. After 4 worlds I run out of worlds that have the letters I've already found that can be combined with the remaining letters.. just repeated the 4th world to knew the answer. I know the world but it never came to my mind.
