Using Mizuno's new fitting software my 6i swing speed average was 86mph and a 5 on the tempo scale. It recommended (1) DG S300 or (2) Project X 5.5. I know the S300 are the heavier of the 2, but using the iron face tape I was much more consistent hitting the ball in the center. I also had the iron lie adjusted to 2* upright. I played the MP 32's for years before letting my son use them. Big mistake because I never got them back:-D. So I decided to try the Ping i5's with Project X 5.5 shafts. So, after 3 years I am back in the Mizuno family. When I saw the 69's I knew I had to try them. I can only compare them to the 32's. They seem to be a little larger, but still maintain that great Mizuno blade look and early on seem to be a little more forgiving. Beautiful looking irons. I am by no means a scratch golfer ( probably closer to an 8 used to be 5) and am 58 years old. So don't let the term blades scare you off from playing one of the best irons made IMHO.

Those MP 69's are awesome.  Hit them today along with the MP 63 and MP 52.  Also tried out the Cleveland CG 16 Tour.  The MP 69 was by far the best of that bunch.  Still have some to test out but it will be very hard to beat out the feel and consistancy of the 69's.

I clicked on your hyperlink, but could not figure out how to add the MP 69s to review. I might be missing something.

I tried them with the Project X 5.5's but didn't like them as well as the S300's. Mizuno adds +0.5" with the PX5.5's. Hard to go wrong with any of your choices. Good luck making your final decision.

I am glad I found your post because you have played both. I still play the mp32s that I got the first year they came out. I still love the clubs but they are getting worn. I like them so much that I am a little nervous about trying a new set. Will the mp69s be better in any way or should I just get a less played used set of the 32s. Thanks

Having played 6 rounds with the 69's I would not want to make that call yet one way or the other as the 32's are great clubs. However, I like the design of the 69's better. Both stll deliver that buttery feel on solid contact, but if you made me choose 1 I would pick the 69's. If it were me I would get your 32's refurbished at The Golf Works, get a set of 69's and keep your 32's as a back up set. My son plays with my 32's ( though he now thinks they belong to him). You would make the transition without any trouble.

    • Ok, I'm trying to find a feel to hit a consistent ball flight (irons).  My current predicament.  1. I try to do the arms down stuff better, with the club feeling like it is way behind me more. It's just a cluster of results. Most of the time, I can't get any speed on the swing. If I get my arms down faster, I just throw them out.  2. I focus all my attention on turning better. Pushing off with my left leg and getting my right side through better. On the DTL view, this doesn't produce anywhere close where the hands and club should be. The result is usually ball first contact, lower ball flight, more centered contact.  At this point, I am going with option 2. Stop thinking about what the hands do. Just make a shorter backswing, keep it wide, turn through. Somehow, the club head finds the ball. My focus is so much on just making sure I turn, it's like, "Oh, that contact was better.... Oh, that bell flight looks playable." If not, I will just be practicing my entire summer.
    • Nope, they spent too much money. They are in over 28 million on the football roster and related NIL compensation at this point. Boosters associated with any Texas college football team has HUGE sway. The AD is between a rock and a hard place. They put a lot of money into Sorsby, at the chance of winning a NC this year. If you move on, you basically wasted a lot.  This is why Ohio State wants 3 QB's they feel can start. That is why the backups the past 5 years at some point transfer. Texas Tech has no backup near the quality of Sorsby. If they move on, they are screwed for 2026.
    • Maybe there's something I still don't understand about the situation. Wouldn't Texas Tech do itself a favor to move on from Sorsby at this point?
    • Day 281 6-10 Full swing, fast, getting low point ahead of "towel".  Working on flow during this seems to help.
