Anyone care about this anymore? Some good teams playing this year.

I could only find the members of the 19 automatically exempt teams handy, so there's more than this playing.

Kuchar and Woodland? That's who we've got?!? Ireland has the last two U.S. Open winner and the best guys we could get to play are Kuchar and Woodland? Geez. I would say the top teams are, Ireland, Spain, Germany, South Africa, England, and Italy. Maybe the US too. Also, I think the full list is here: http://worldcup.pgatour.com/team_profile.aspx

In my bag:

Driver: Titleist TSi3 | 15º 3-Wood: Ping G410 | 17º 2-Hybrid: Ping G410 | 19º 3-Iron: TaylorMade GAPR Lo |4-PW Irons: Nike VR Pro Combo | 54º SW, 60º LW: Titleist Vokey SM8 | Putter: Odyssey Toulon Las Vegas H7

I kinda like Sweden and Denmark too!

Ireland is the by far the strongest team even if I am not that convinced about G-Mac's game this year...

Man, we've (Canada) got nobody from what I'm seeing. Canada is a golf crazy country. Wonder why we're not involved. Hey, can we have Kuchar and Woodland if you guys (U.S.) don't want 'em? :-D

Considering that the last three American representatives to this event were John Merrick/Nick Watney, Ben Curtis/Brandt Snedeker, and Heath Slocum/Boo Weekley, Kuchar and Woodland are a vast improvement.

Certainly, some countries are not holding this tournament in the same regard as others. (I'm looking at you, South Korea, whose team had to go through sectional qualifying because none of the five Koreans ranked within the top 100 of the world rankings wanted to attend.)

In my UnderArmour Links stand bag...

Does anyone know if OWGR points can be gained here and if the prize money does count for the Race to dubai standings? Can't find the answers anywhere.

Ireland, Sweden and South Africa are my favorites to win it.

thanks for the answer Deasy.

that's a shame. I was hoping that my man, Joost Luiten, could sneak in the top 50 of the OWGR that way. So he would be allowed to play all the big tournaments next year.

If you think Kuchar and Woodland is bad for the U.S., think about the Australian team.  They have guys like Jason Day, Aaron Baddeley, Adam Scott, John Senden, Geoff Ogilvy, and Robert Allenby.  Yet they have Richard Green and Brendan Jones representing them.

For the record, I understand why and am not surprised by the fact that we only have Kuchar and Woodland playing.

Oosthuizen and Schwartzel won the Junior World Cup playing together in 2001. Would be rather cool to also bag the grown-up version 10 years later, although they'll have to finish better than they started today.

Speaking of Schwartzel -- that guy sure gets around!

There will be arguments all over Northern Ireland after this picture was posted in all the major Irish newspapers today

    • Day 314 - Putting some things together. Better grip/setup, fuller backswing, better finishing position. Filmed some swings, happy with the progress.
    • Day 130: did a stack session.
    • Day 206 (24 Nov 24)  - An easy session with the 54deg wedge and hard foam balls / one simple goal - distance control thru backswing length while not decelerating.  Had a playing partner comment they noticed me decelerating on a couple short wedge shots in last round.  Hit from distances from close to 40yds down to 20.
    • Musgrove Mill hole #15 was converted to a par 3 after Hurricane Helene. Today, I had 145 from the tee which is a perfect 9-iron for me. I aimed just right of the hole and pulled it a few feet. Clanked off the stick down into the hole and ricocheted out of the hole 13’ away. Drained the putt for a birdie after repairing the hole which was damaged . Not sure if it would have counted as a HIO, but I was pretty excited!
    • Day 55 - 2024-11-24 Did five levels of Operation 36 on GSPro (different courses). 🙂 Was -4 from 200 yards (32) intentionally laying up on each hole (i.e. not hitting a 5I or something). Shot… 22, 24, 26 from 25, 50, and 100 yards. I forget my 150-yard score, but obviously it was < 36. Putting was odd… (and I did it with the wedge or a 7I or whatever was in my hand).
