I am really happy that they are going to play on the PGA Tour where i feel all the best players in the world should be playing. Honestly other then every golf geek like myself, who watches the Race to Dubai. We want to see the top ranked players in the world  playing for that 7 million dollar check at the end of the year. Kaymer can stay on the euro tour,he can smoke a cigar with Jimenez and tweet with Ian Poulter.68 of the top 100 players in the world play on the PGA tour so IMO the right decision was made.I know they will have to play more tournaments on the PGA Tour but the big stage is in the states.

I agree, I'm glad some of the best players are coming back to the States to play. Should be a fun 2012 for golf watching! I will miss waking up on the weekend and turning on the Golf Channel to watch those guys on the European Tour.

Golf is deceptively simple and endlessly complicated

That is a good thing of the Euro tour, waking up in the morning and watching top players tee it up. I still think that the right decision was made and i am pretty sure all the golf fans want to see the top euro players compete where the competition is the greatest.

Same can be said for the FedEx Cup.

Or he could go to America and read the bible with Webb Simpson and wear a hat too big for him with Fowler.

I'm a golf fan. I want there to be competitive tours in North America, Europe, and Asia. I like the extra spice those tours' top players add to WGC events and the majors. I also like having several watchable events from around the world on the weekend. I personally find the same names at the same type of course week after week quite boring. It's like watching the same two NFL teams playing ever week (or Leafs v. Habs for Canadian readers). Booooring.

But your opinion is what it is and that's great too.

Will this really change something or will just fill the ego of the US PGA Tour Supporters? How many events will they play in the US instead of Euro?

Rory's game really suits the American 'hit it high and long' golf courses, so it is definitely the right decision for him. He has won twice on American soil, and what a memorable 2 wins they were.

Blue Steel!

There's lots of reasons that an international player might choose the US. For one thing, many of us "furriners" actually quite like America and enjoying visiting and even living there. I was just reading an interview with Charl Schwartzel in one of our papers here and he had this to say about playing the PGA Tour:

Quote:
Life there is so convenient. Everything works and there is a huge amount of choice in every aspect, professionally and personally. I enjoyed playing on the European Tour, and learnt so much there, but it is much easier to concentrate only on my golf when based in the States. I use my passport once, there are no language issues and I haven't even needed to buy a car -- you get courtesy cars at every tournament. The food is great and besides playing for huge money and lots of World Ranking points every week, the tour really spoils the players. Where we live, Louis (Oosthuizen) and I can go hit balls in shorts and then fire up the braai (BBQ)  by the pool straight afterwards. Simple stuff like that makes a difference. PGA Tour pros catch a lot of criticism for not traveling overseas much, but I can see why they don't want to leave. If I had all that in South Africa I wouldn't leave either!"

Stretch.

What this id doing is just putting the best players on the biggest stage.every golf fan wants to see the top 20 guys battling it out at the end of the year for the big pay day. I feel like the top euro players can still plat tournament on other tours but they should be playing in the deeper tour. Which is why i am happy to see Lee and Rory make the decision to play full time on tour. Rory is a incredible talent and who doesn't want to see him more in the states.

Perhaps all the golf fans of the European Tour?

franky, I see you are really proud of your national tour and you really don't care about anything but US related golf, but remember that there is a whole golf world outside your Country ;)

I love global golf and all of the tours.Just because Lee and Rory are fulltime on the PGA tour that doesnt mean they will not play in europe. They still will do there favorite euor tournaments, they are just going to play more in the states which i i think is the right move.

You are always going to see the tour you watch the most as the "deeper tour", purely because you will recognise more of the journeyman players on a tour that you have more interest in.

I actually watch the euro tour alot,i watch the euro tour in the a.m and pga tour in the afternoon.I am stating a fact when i say that the pga tour is deeper,68 of the top 100 players are full time pga tour participants.I have no problem with any other tour. I dont see how you cant agree with me that top players should be on the top tour.

Well sorry to disagree then. I think the best players should be playing the top events, regardless of what tour they are on or in what country they are played in.
