Since its the winter and i can't golf now i decided i start doing some reading to get ready for the spring. The biggest thing i need to work on is my putting and i was wondering what the best place would be to go to for that. Like if theres a really good ebook that i could read or a website.

Where do you guys go for putting?

Thanks

Are you looking for a place to putt, or something to read?

I've been putting in my living room practically every night the past several months, during commercials, or all through American Idol.  Putter and 3 balls are always beside my chair.  We have a tile floor in the living room with a VERY large rug with various round patterns on it.  I'll putt to different round spots to work on speed, which is what I need to work on the most.  My HC would easily be in the teens if my putting can get better.

Hey sorry, i probably should have rephrased it better, but I'm not looking for a place to putt but a good site or ebook on putting that i could read in the meantime. I really want to work on my putting this year

"Zen Putting" by Dr Joe Parent.  Its not so much a mechanical book as it is a great book to give you the right mindset for putting.  IMO, success in putting is 90% mental.

If you can find a copy of Tiger Woods how I play golf (I think its one of his first how to books) there is a good section on putting. The best way is to drop a few balls in the dinning room and start putting, I played around with different grip pressures and hand placement until I found what worked best for me

Absolutely.

Go to Geoff Mangum's website (Puttingzone) and find his "Tips" section.

Read all the articles, click on the titles to bring up the full article.

Tons of great articles and tips on putting.

Buy his e-book "Optimal Putting". Deep stuff, no fluff here.

He has a video download, "The Reality of Putting" he did with Steve Elkington. Good info.

Last season, with the help  of this forum (especially Erik) and AimPoint I went from a 10.8 to a 6.7 in on season. I've read A LOT of putting books. Several of Rotella's books, Zen Putting, Putting out of your mind, Pelz, and others. I agree with the folks above saying putting is about confidence and for me knowing exactly where to aim gave me far more confidence than the books . AimPoint will do that for you.

In addition, AimPoint has made me a much better pitcher and chipper.

    • Day 34 (14 Dec 25) - Got outside for a few moments to work on bump and runs with the 4h (again using the exaggerated weight shift reminder of the left (lead) heel). Finding that it helps keep the downswing arc extended.

    • I am currently playing a Cobra Ltdx LS 9 degree driver and Cobra Ltdx LS FW3. Both with Tensei White stock stiff shafts and original weights of 12g (heel) and 3g (toe). My miss is usually a pull fade or sometimes a slice, swing is out to in. Driver swing speed about 112 mph. Grips are stock regular. Intended change: Driver: Switching to Tensei White x-flex one inch shorter which I suppose would be 44,5? Changing heel weight to 18g. Changing grip to Golf Pride Z-grip cord midsize. Change hosel setting to standard draw. FW3: Changing heel weight to 16g (apparently not available in FW weights, but supposed to be something called "internal weight" a club builder can add which fits between the weight and the screw?). Change grip to Golf Pride Z-grip cord midsize. Changing hosel setting to standard +1. The goal is to 1) get better grip since I tend so lose grip in warm and moist conditions with the current grips and 2) mitigate the misses to start more straight with less side spin. Also considering adding the Cobra Ltdx LS FW5 instead of my old Taylormade R9 and getting 14g heel and 6g toe weights with the same grip as the others and hosel setting standard +1.   All of the above is based on conversations with ChatGPT and, as everyone knows, it can come up with pretty much whatever but I spent a few hours asking about different perspectives etc and this was the recommendation. So, my question is basically, does it make any sense?   Thanks.
