3 times the charm?  After his previous 2 projects in Dubai and the Cliffs folded, maybe this place in Cabo San Lucas will work out better

Quote:

A representative for the property said they are in discussions with Woods, but no contract has been signed and nothing can be announced publicly at this time. Developers are "shopping for a big name" and looking to break ground in the "next month or two." The property already boasts a course designed by Davis Love III, which opened to critical acclaim.

An email to Woods' representatives was not returned.

Woods is the designer of Punta Brava, a hyper-exclusive course and development slated to open in 2013 along seven miles of coast line in Ensenada, Baja California. The other two developments Woods was contracted to design - Al Ruwaya in Dubai and The Cliffs in North Carolina - have folded due to the global collapse in the real estate market.

At first I was thinking, Mexico?! Why?? But Cabo is one of the most beautiful places in the world, so I'm sure it will be amazing.

And it's already a big tourist destination.

Is it going to be an 11-hole course?  We all know Tiger quits after 11 holes.

Word on the street is he is going to have a cat house and IHOP at the turn.  This one might actually make it.

This one could be 0/4.  Anyone been to Cabo lately?

My buddies and I used to go every year, but were overcome by marriages and kids--haven't been in 2 years.  But they've been building a ton out there, especially golf courses.  I can think of 5 or 6 courses that have gone up in the last 5 years, and I haven't been there lately.  The issues happening in Mexico have to be affecting Cabo, because my buddies' wives unanimously cringe when we raise the idea of another trip.

Cabo courses were never crowded to begin with (one of the best reasons to go there).  Can't imagine that location can support too many more.

Just stumbled upon this, and I do realize that it's a few years old now.

Interesting to read.  I remember the planning stages of the Tiger Course.  I thought it would stumble and fall like his others too, but no.  It's open.  Two new courses opened last year, plus a third did sort of a re-opening (Chileno)

Actually the courses are still pretty slow, but do get their share of traffic during the season.  There are currently 13 courses open in the Los Cabos area, with 2 more in La Paz.  Another 9 holes are due to open in PLC this year, and another 3 courses planned for the area in the near future.  (Including a second Tiger Woods Course)

Golfers Paradise in Cabo.  Everything came back well after hurricane Odile on the course front.

If he can't get his Glutes activated, this project will fizzle out.

    • Day 430 - 2025-12-04 Slow motion backswings (with chippy shots) with AlmostGolf balls.
    • Day 24 (4 Dec 25) - Spent about an hour working with the new 55° wedge in the backyard.  Kept all shots to under 20yds.  Big focus - not decelerating thru downswing and keeping speed up with abbreviated backswing.  Nothing like hitting a low flighted chip with plenty of check spin and then purpose to float a pitch of similar distance.
    • Day 114 12-4 Put some work in on backswing, moving the hips correctly, then feeling over to lead side. Didn't hit any balls was just focused on keeping flowy and moving better. I'll probably do another session tonight and add in some foam balls.
    • Didn't say anything about your understanding in my post.  Well, if you are not insisting on alignment with logic of the WHS, then no.  Try me/us. What do you want from us then?? You are not making sense. You come here and post in an open forum, question a system that is constructed with logic, without using any of your own and then give us a small window of your personal experience to support your narrative which at first sight does not makes sense.  I mean, if you are a point of swearing then I would suggest you cut your losses and humor a more gullible audience elsewhere. Good heavens.
