Sorry for the caddy shack quote, but i couldnt resist.    My name is adam, im a 28yr old electrician who has recently made started taking golf much more serious.  I began playing at 12 or so of and on, peaking probably at 16 when i could consistently shoot in the mid/high 80s.   I didnt golf nearly as much once i started driving as I had other sports that i was more into such as track.   Ive recently put my hobby/obsession with drag racing and engine building on the back burner as it was taking to much time, to much money, and causing way to much stress.  My game has some serious holes like any other amatures, but im working on them, and working hard to hit my goal of 85 this year.  My first round out  i shot 55/45 for 101, terrible, but not super terrible i dont think being that I havent played in 2.5 years.    I bought new clubs this year as well,  I have ping g15 woods which i hit  very well, and bran new cleveland CG7 irons with stiff iron shafts (93mph with 8iron when they tested me)  (103 driver)  Im fairly consistent with ball placement while on the driving range, but im looking to bridge the gap to the course, which obviously if the hard part of golf.    Sorry for the long winded introduction, i look forward to advice, comraderie, bad jokes, and possibly good drinks if anyone is in my area!   Please pardon my internet spelling and grammar as well.

Regards

Adam.

Thanks Mvmac for the reception, and the helpful links.  Seems like a very well run forum, I have over 50,000 forum posts, this seems to be one of the more civil forums around!

    • Day 355: more mirror work. Worked on some feels to get shaft lean without such extreme forward body movement.
    • Yes, agree that there should be more TV coverage. I think the fact that they don't have the swing speed of their male counterparts makes it (slightly) more relatable, in that the rough is more of a penalty and the lack of distance means they are often pulling longer irons or lumber to get home on par fives. I think this season has been a bit tough on the LPGA to build much of a narrative with no one winning more than one tournament. And you could argue that they didn't really make hay with Nelly's run of wins, which should have been crowding out Caitlin Clark for female sports story of last year. One piece that they need to fix is the slow play - I would argue there is less player power compare to PGAT, so I don't understand why they aren't hitting the repeat offenders with stroke penalties. They have taken some strides in that respect this season, so let's hope Kessler continues the momentum.
    • Day 70 (10 Jul 25) - Weekly 9 hole round - changed up the clubs as I used the MaCGregor blades and Penna persimmons.  These clubs require focused contact - so it was a day of working on tempo and making consistent contact.  Overall it was a good session of working on these areas.
    • 1 x 2 x 3 = 3! Wow! 2 + 2 x 2 = 3! Etc. 😉
