Got anything to say about Asians, or more properly, Chinks? I am Asian. Come on, go for it.

Do we really have to have a primer on why stereotyping is offensive? OK, here you go. IT'S BECAUSE STEREOTYPES ARE INVARIABLY NEGATIVE. Duh. Jewish people also tend to be intelligent, hard working, and creative. Why aren't these traits mentioned in Jewish stereotypes? Because stereotypes are meant to demean. Class over.

You are Asian so you are probably good at math and science.  You even have some sort of molecule as your avatar.

Awesome. I used to play the Marina course a lot. And then that new course (about 7 yrs ago?) right before the airport was probably one of my favorites in the Bay area. I used to live in San Ramon, but came back to Jersey.

The Marina course is one of my favorites, and I think the course you're speaking of near the airport would be Metropolitan Golf Links. I like that one too, but it's haaaaaaaaaaaard. I almost walked off the course there one day LOL.

What the **** is wrong with you people? Cool it, it's just an internet forum. Goddamn, you guys are mean! Learn to take a joke. And the fact is, the people that go there are stingy, jewish heritage or not. Jesus Christ! By the way, my parents are Republican and proud of it you over reacters. And my role models happen to by the following. My pastor, Jesse Lacey, Kurt. Sure I joke around with my friends. No I wouldn't go down town New York and yell nigger. Not only would I get beat up, it's not Christian. TRUTH! I'm OK, if you're OK. Shall we get back on topic? Or maybe just screw the thread.

You really are the most vile person of your age that I have encountered anywhere. You are so confident that you don't need to change and that people who criticize you don't "get you" or don't "know you". Be assured that they know you very well by what you write. Imagine the shame if your parents happened to read the filth you post here. I almost feel like being sick. You can't continue to pretend to be joking when you write offensive things. Unfortunately, the die has been cast. You need to do some serious thinking, young man.

In the race of life, always back self-interest. At least you know it's trying.

Maybe I just felt too comfortable online to do that kind of stuff. I know blacks who wont beat me up for saying nigger, but I choose not to, just cuz its kind of awk, plus its mean.

If you understand this then you should keep in mind that you aren't dicking around with close friends here. This is a public forum with lots of traffic. You can't say what you have and expect not to offend people. Learn from it and move on.

well alright then, thats what Im saying. Honestly, its a certain couple superiority complexes who need to act mature and break me down like everyone else in my life, just so they can be above someone else for once. But I've moved on. you know what I just want to get back on topic. I find it hard, it's hard to find, oh well, whatever, nevermind.

Step away from the keyboard. It's summer, you're not in school now, why don't you go outside and play some golf.

Yes, I am fairly adept at math and science.  However, even a "good" stereotype such as this one is negative in a backhanded way, like an underhanded compliment.  So this one is basically saying 'All Asians are geeks or dorks'.

Why does age have an impact on using stereotypes? Nobody should use stereotypes, in this day and age they are flat out ignorant

Let's be honest, that simply isn't true... example that comes to mind is the percentage of black people in the US that vote Democrat. Stereotypes aren't 100% accurate by any means, but some of them hold some truth.

But I feel compelled to say that I would much rather live in a world filled with Domenics, who say the wrong thing but with light intentions, than in a world filled with people who feel the need to demonise others.

well, thanks, and I'm actually headed for gropup lessons 2morrow at 8am, and hopefully a quick 9 afterwards. Anyways, I feel that this song summarizes this thread as well as my feelings about steortypes.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wCgx8zM3woQ

To each his own, but in my experience it's never a good idea to make a general blanket statement about any group of people. Light-hearted or not, but if you do talk that way, realize there may be repurcussions.

1.  A good caddy is one that the player does not notice - stay out of the way

2.  Keep up

3.  Keep a good watch on your players balls

4.  Make sure you use proper etiquette:

---  around the greens

---  making noise

5.  Rake traps properly

6.  You probably don't have to worry about ball marks, as many players fix their own, but be sure to fix any that you may see (same with divots)

7.  Don't offer advice unless it is asked of you.  You are there to carry the bags, not give lessons

8.  Sometimes good anectodes are good for guests/non-members once you gain some local course, but until you do then stay quiet

9.  Be polite.  When in doubt, error on the side of extra polite.

You want a legit caddie tip? Don't take your forum demeanor to the course.
